After the Vietnamese women's volleyball team finished the group stage of the 2025 Women's Volleyball World Championship - held in Thailand since August - with all 3 losses and elimination, there have been many opinions about the team's playing style at this tournament as well as recently.

In the context of the biggest star of Vietnamese women's volleyball, Nguyen Bich Tuyen, asking permission not to participate in the world championship for personal reasons, the fans' expectations were placed on the shoulders of the main attacker - captain Tran Thi Thanh Thuy. Unfortunately, at the big tournament in Thailand mentioned above, Thanh Thuy's contribution was not as great as expected. The number of points scored against Poland, Germany, Kenya was even lower than another main attacker of the team, Vi Thi Nhu Quynh. Thanh Thuy's contributions to Vietnamese volleyball, as well as her influence on the team - even when she is not at her best - make many people sensitive to criticism aimed at her. That is understandable, but not a convincing enough reason. Because for the current Vietnamese women's volleyball team, constructive and responsible comments are very necessary, to avoid the team becoming complacent with its initial successes.

The opponents of the Vietnamese women's volleyball team are no longer limited to Southeast Asia, with Thailand being the biggest rival, but have gradually expanded to the continent and the world. Against teams with many limitations such as Indonesia and the Philippines, Thanh Thuy and her teammates can show certain advantages in height, technical tactics, and are not affected too much by the "common occurrence" of first-step and second-pass errors. However, when facing teams with "huge" height and top tactics such as China, Poland, France, Germany, etc., the Vietnamese girls will find it difficult to avoid defeat if they do not improve their skills and "sleep well" with their existing success.
