Accordingly, the delegation inspected the actual situation of religious and ethnic affairs in An Cu and Tri Ton communes after the implementation of the two-tiered local government model in carrying out tasks that have been decentralized and delegated according to the new model; compiled the difficulties and obstacles of the localities, and recommended that competent authorities resolve them.

In An Cu commune, with over 39,956 inhabitants, of which the Khmer ethnic group accounts for 69.61%, the commune government has requested the Ministry of Ethnic Minorities and Religions to provide funding for the repair, expansion, or construction of a new commune office.

Furthermore, the local authorities have requested the Government to continue approving An Cu as a Category III (especially disadvantaged) commune for the period 2025-2030, in order to continue receiving support for socio -economic development.

Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religion Y Vinh Tơr worked with the Party Committee and People's Committee of An Cư commune on the operation of the two-tiered local government model.

In Tri Ton commune, home to three main ethnic groups—Kinh, Khmer, and Hoa—the Khmer people account for nearly 47% of the total population. This area is also a key religious hub, with 19 Buddhist places of worship along with many other religious groups, such as Hoa Hao Buddhism, Cao Dai, Catholicism, and Protestantism.

Danh Tha, Deputy Director of the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions of An Giang province, answered questions and addressed requests from An Cu commune.

Given that ethnic and religious affairs in Tri Ton commune are currently handled by officials who also perform these duties, the local authorities have requested the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs to consider allocating dedicated positions or providing responsibility allowances for officials working in this field at the commune level.

Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religion Y Vinh Tơr encouraged influential figures in Tri Tôn commune.

On behalf of the delegation, Y Vinh Tơr, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religions, expressed his delight at meeting with representatives of influential figures in the locality and acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and important role of these influential figures in ethnic minority communities.

Deputy Minister of Ethnic Minorities and Religion Y Vinh Tơr affirmed that truly influential people serve as role models, encouraging people to participate in patriotic emulation movements, labor and production, and the construction and protection of their localities.
