Ms. Kim Cuong is the eldest sister in a studious family. She chose Finance - Banking and graduated with honors from the PhD program at the University of Glasgow, UK. Her second sister studied Organic Chemistry and completed her PhD program at the University of Le Mans (France). During her research, she developed new synthesis methods and stereochemical control in organolithium chemistry, with potential for wide application in pharmaceuticals and materials. In particular, Ms. Cuong's youngest brother studied Robotics and has just graduated with a PhD from the University of Oxford, UK, with his research topic focusing on developing artificial intelligence on robots, a promising field in the future.

The success of the three Ly sisters is the result of their parents' constant investment, guidance and support. According to Kim Cuong, her parents always believed that knowledge is the most solid and lasting path for their children to build a bright future. Realizing the importance of foreign languages in global integration, their parents created conditions for the three sisters to access English from the age of 5. "My parents not only invested in our education, but were also patient and sensitive companions throughout our journey of growing up. They observed, listened, explained and guided, but at the same time gave us the right to choose," Kim Cuong said.

With a solid foundation from their family and a spirit of independence cultivated from a young age, all three sisters of Kim Cuong have made every effort and reaped the first sweet fruits by receiving prestigious full scholarships. Sister Kim Cuong received a full master's scholarship and then a full doctoral scholarship worth 81,000 pounds from the University of Glasgow. The second sister was honored to receive the France Excellence Scholarship from the French Embassy for her master's program and then a doctoral scholarship from the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research. The youngest sister was not far behind when she received a full doctoral scholarship at Oxford University to pursue a long-term academic path. The scholarships are a recognition of the excellent academic ability and proof of the perseverance and tireless efforts of the three sisters throughout their academic journey.

The journey of studying abroad always comes with challenges, for Kim Cuong, one of the biggest obstacles when she first came to the UK to study for a master's degree was the language. "I had to study entirely in English - from listening to lectures, participating in seminars, to writing academic essays. At first, I was quite worried because I was not used to presenting critical thinking and in-depth analysis as required by the teaching style in the UK" - Kim Cuong recalled. However, it was her determination to study and her initiative that helped her overcome the difficulties. She spent a lot of time in the library, reading more reference books, researching academic documents outside the program to better understand the knowledge she learned in class. At the same time, she boldly exchanged with lecturers and international friends to improve her ability to express and think academically in English. Ms. Kim Cuong's experience is a valuable lesson for many young Vietnamese people who are dreaming of studying abroad: IELTS score is only a necessary condition, the ability to use English fluently and confidently in all situations is the deciding factor for success.

Deeply understanding the value of a companion on the journey of self-development, Ms. Kim Cuong established a foreign language center in Long Xuyen City, to create conditions for students, university students and working people to have the opportunity to learn English in a professional environment, contributing to improving the English proficiency of people in her homeland.
