The program was attended by representatives of the Board of Directors and CIC professional experts; the program also attracted the participation of officers in charge of data analysis, risk management, and development of rating/scoring models from the Departments and Agencies of the State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) and a number of credit institutions. On the international experts side, the course had the participation of Mr. Inkoo Jeon - General Director of PJ Scoring Company (PJ Scoring) Korea - Consulting Expert of ACRN Network and Mr. HyunCheol Cho - PhD - Vice President of Telco CB Group.

In his opening speech, Mr. Le Anh Tuan - Deputy General Director of CIC emphasized the importance of modeling in the context of strong development of digital lending services, fast lending, and unsecured lending. "Participating in this training course helps to enhance reporting and monitoring capacity to serve the State Bank; at the same time, support CIC and credit institutions to improve the efficiency of scoring/ranking borrowers. Each credit institution has a different risk appetite, but the scoring method between CIC and other institutions still has similarities. Therefore, understanding the model building process, implementing each step and learning from the experience of international experts will be an important premise for applying in practice" - said Mr. Le Anh Tuan

To suit the practical needs in Vietnam, international experts have designed the program incorporating implementation experience in many developed markets. The main content of the course includes:
- Model development life cycle, including evaluation, validation, monitoring and strategy development phases;
- How to set up effective credit policies and optimize decisions through developing credit strategies including approval, pricing, credit limits based on CB Score and AS Score framework;
- Introducing Proof-of-Concept (PoC) services for financial institutions pursuing internal model development;
- In-depth guidance on step-by-step modeling methods and algorithms;
- Theoretical guidance and practical training on credit scoring model development methods and strategic operational techniques, using alternative data.
Each session, students spent 45-60 minutes on discussion and direct Q&A between international experts and students. Students appreciated the intuitive and easy-to-understand teaching method, especially the way the experts combined theory with simulated practical examples, helping students easily visualize the operation of the model and its impact on credit granting activities. After 3 days of intensive work, students not only mastered the theoretical framework but also directly discussed and shared about the process of building and evaluating models on the basis of real data, ready to apply to work.
