According to statistics from the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ) and the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), the garment industry in Vietnam is playing a key role in the economy. In 2024, textile and garment export turnover will reach about 44 billion USD, an increase of more than 11% compared to 2023. Vietnam is currently among the three largest garment exporting countries in the world, with more than 7,000 enterprises and 3 million workers, of which about 80% of capacity is for export.

Along with exports, the domestic consumer market has also recorded growth. The size of the Vietnamese fashion market is estimated at 6.5 - 6.7 billion USD, with an average growth rate of 3.5 - 4% per year until 2030. Of which, the lingerie and sleepwear segment is worth about 450 million USD in 2024 and is forecast to reach 701.6 million USD in 2033 (CAGR equivalent to 5.2%). In addition, e-commerce is playing an increasingly important role, with fashion and accessories accounting for about 27.5% of online revenue.
This picture shows that Vietnam is not only a “factory” in the global textile and garment supply chain but also a potential domestic consumer market. From that potential, the international fair SIUF Vietnam 2025 will take place for the first time in Vietnam from November 13-15 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC, Ho Chi Minh City), opening up opportunities to connect and transfer modern production trends in the industry.
The event, organized by Informa Markets Vietnam in collaboration with SIUF Shenzhen (China), marks the first time that Asia's leading domestic fashion exhibition brand has been present in Vietnam. The event is expected to gather more than 450 brands and suppliers, along with thousands of domestic and foreign buyers and industry partners.
SIUF Vietnam 2025 sets out three major orientations: Developing a domestic production and distribution network capable of meeting market demand and participating more deeply in the global value chain; attracting FDI capital and international cooperation in design, raw materials, and garment production technology; supporting small and medium enterprises to improve supply capacity, replace imports, and increase production value.
In addition to the exhibition area, the program also includes specialized seminars, international discussions, business connections and digital activities to support brand building and multi-channel sales. These activities help businesses expand their partner networks, buyers access reliable sources of supply, and affirm Vietnam's position as a strategic destination in the global supply chain.
