Quang Ninh strives to attract 8.57 million tourists in the last 6 months of this year, including 7.07 million domestic tourists and 1.5 million international tourists; total tourism revenue reaches 24,175 billion VND. Accordingly, the whole year will reach 19 million tourists (15.5 million domestic tourists, 3.5 million international tourists), total tourism revenue reaches 46,460 billion VND, an increase of 8% compared to the plan set by the province at the beginning of the year. These are the highest tourism figures ever of the province.
Enhance your experience in Ha Long Bay
In fact, Quang Ninh's tourism figures in the first 6 months of the year also increased significantly. Of which, the number of visitors reached nearly 10.43 million, an increase of 18% over the same period (including nearly 2 million foreign visitors), total revenue reached 22,282 billion VND, an increase of 34% over the same period; the increase in the number of visitors and revenue compared to the target set at the beginning of the year was 9% and 11% respectively.
In particular, the number of foreign visitors increased by 140% compared to the same period last year and Ha Long Bay is still the most attractive destination for this type of visitor.
Sharing with us about his first 3-day, 2-night vacation on Ha Long Bay, Mr. Walter de Hoop, a Dutch tourist, excitedly said: The scenery and nature here are really wonderful, the mountains, beaches, sunshine and opportunities to swim, kayak and enjoy the generosity of the people here are all wonderful experiences. With a strong attraction for foreign visitors, to extend their stay, increase their experience and spending power when coming to Ha Long Bay, Mr. Vu Kien Cuong, Head of Ha Long Bay Management Board, said that the unit is currently conducting a thorough survey and comprehensive assessment of the impacts on the system of unexploited sandbanks and caves in the bay. Of these, about 20 caves and 20 sandbanks can be exploited as tourism products.
Mr. Cuong emphasized: The exploitation of tourism products must be based on the absolute guarantee of pristine beauty, minimizing human impact on the very special natural landscape of Ha Long Bay. With that spirit, we are trying to advise the province to put the beach system into operation first by the end of the year, then select a number of caves with the best conditions to put into service exploitation, such as organizing concerts, singing and dancing in the cave and a number of other entertainment activities...
In addition, the unit has also worked with organizations and individuals who have the need and desire to invest in developing new tourism products in Ha Long Bay this year. Accordingly, it has provided guidance on legal procedures to exploit and develop dragon boat racing, kayaking, rowing, visiting and experiencing scenic spots, experiencing fishing villages, and cultural activities of fishermen in Ha Long Bay. Enterprises are making great efforts from now until the end of the year to bring as many products into exploitation as possible in accordance with the province's direction.
Great potential from localities
As the largest tourist center in the province, with the world heritage Ha Long Bay, Ha Long City is therefore assigned the highest target of increasing 1.3 million visitors compared to the plan at the beginning of the year. This also shows high feasibility for the city, because from now until the end of the year, out of 92 programs, events, and activities to stimulate international tourism, national, provincial and local levels of Quang Ninh, the majority will be held in Ha Long. Among them, there are many programs and events that promise to attract a large number of visitors, such as: Korean and Vietnamese Music Festival, Vnexpress Marathon Amazing 2024, Bay Trianthlon 51.1 Tuan Chau - Ha Long 2024, Quang Ninh Culinary Festival 2024...
Through sharing with the press, the leader of Ha Long City also said that the city has very detailed plans to organize a number of new, unique cultural and tourism festivals and events on a large scale, focusing on the low tourist months. Accordingly, in July, we can mention the Ha Long Fun Wheels Festival, this August is the Sailboat, Parachute, and Jet Ski Festival "Overcoming Ha Long Waves". In the last months of the year, it is expected to organize the Full Moon Festival and artistic light show by the heritage bay (August of the lunar calendar); Hot Air Balloon Festival, Ripe Guava Festival in September; Flower Festival at Quang La Flower Paradise in December...
Autumn and winter are also the peak season for cruise tourists, with the majority of visitors going to Ha Long. In the last months of this year, the province plans to open more cruise routes from Beihai City, Guangxi (China) and from Guangzhou City (China) to Ha Long City to attract more of these visitors.
For air passengers, the province will also agree with tourism businesses to build flight routes via Van Don International Airport such as: Flight route from Wuxi, Jiangsu, China - Van Don, Quang Ninh (expected 2 flights/week, starting from October 2024); flight route from Jeju, South Korea - Van Don, Quang Ninh (expected to start from October 2024). At the same time, continue to connect with tourism businesses, open other international tourist routes from China, South Korea and domestic flights in the southern region to Quang Ninh via Van Don International Airport. This will also contribute to increasing the attraction of international tourists to Van Don as well as the Ha Long tourism center at the end of this year and in the long term future.
Along with Ha Long, Van Don and Mong Cai were also assigned a large increase in the number of visitors (1 million visitors) compared to the plan at the beginning of the year. This is also possible because in the first 6 months of the year, Mong Cai welcomed 2 million visitors/the total target set at the beginning of the year was 2.25 million visitors for the whole year. Van Don welcomed 649,000/760,000 visitors in the first 6 months according to the plan for the whole year. Recently, Van Don has inaugurated and put into operation the Sonasea Van Don resort and Angsana Quan Lan hotel, both of which meet international 5-star standards, overcoming a long-standing local bottleneck in terms of high-quality tourist accommodation facilities, while opening up opportunities for local tourism to make a big breakthrough in the coming time.
Another highlight is that Uong Bi tourism in 6 months attracted 2.66/3 million visitors for the whole year. Therefore, the goal of welcoming an additional 200,000 visitors in the last 6 months of the year does not seem too difficult given the local potential.
In the fall and winter, the attractive destinations of Uong Bi can first be mentioned as Yen Tu. In recent years, Legacy Resort and Lang Nuong in Yen Tu of Tung Lam Development Joint Stock Company have maintained and renewed their products to serve customers in the fall and winter, such as Thu Binh An, Tri An va Uoc Vuong, Gazing at the sunrise, meditation products, body and mind care... exploiting the historical, cultural and natural values of Yen Tu, towards the occasion of commemorating the Buddha King Tran Nhan Tong's enlightenment...
Yen Tu in autumn can be said to be the most beautiful time of the year, in recent years it has not only attracted domestic tourists from the southern region but also attracted foreign tourists, mainly Korean tourists. In addition, Yen Trung Lake tourist area, Phuong Hoang hill, Binh Huong peak... are also attractive destinations of Uong Bi in autumn and winter.
In the mountainous border region of Quang Ninh, Binh Lieu is also a highlight on the province's autumn-winter tourism map with many events attracting tourists to explore the unique culture of ethnic minorities here, such as: Binh Lieu Golden Season Festival, So Flower Festival, highland markets and the vast white reed flower season landscape on the roads and border markers... All have been and are contributing to Quang Ninh realizing the goal of welcoming 19 million tourists by the end of this year.
