Opportunity to reach out to local products

The People's Committee of Quang Tri province has just organized a program to welcome a delegation of foreign enterprises to Vietnam to trade and purchase goods with localities in the North Central region in 2025 and a conference to connect direct business-to-business (B2B) trade. This is an opportunity for domestic enterprises, including Quang Tri province, to strengthen cooperation, improve production capacity and gradually bring Vietnamese products into international distribution systems.

The appeal of local products

Within the framework of the program, representatives of foreign enterprises surveyed and visited a number of factories and raw material areas in Quang Tri province to better understand the province's products and connectivity capabilities.

After learning about the rice production and processing process at the Sepon Rice Drying Factory of Quang Tri Trading Corporation, Mr. Zheng Yiping - Director of Hunnan Brother New Materials Co., Ltd. - China shared: “This field trip helped me know that agricultural products from Vietnam's production sites are very good. In particular, at this organic rice processing factory, we found the production process to be very clean and of high quality. I see that the possibility of commercial cooperation with local agricultural products is positive, after having further evaluation processes”.

Meanwhile, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy, in charge of rice technology of Quang Tri Trading Corporation, shared: “Through the meeting and working with enterprises at the factory, we have the opportunity to directly introduce the rice production process from the growing area to the complete processing and packaging. The process is different from other products outside and through the international standard process, we have the opportunity to learn about the needs, connect with the international market to increase export products as well as stimulate demand for the company's agricultural products, especially organic rice”.

Delighted to welcome the delegation, Director of Viet Wood Workshop Joint Stock Company Trinh Thi Ai informed: “Our company specializes in producing agarwood incense products, agarwood essential oil, agarwood bracelets... entirely from natural materials. Hopefully in the near future, we will have the opportunity to bring friendly, affectionate products of Quang Tri people with green, clean standards to the international market”.

Attending the trade connection conference, Director of Gold Herbal Pharmaceutical Joint Stock Company (Industrial Park 9D, Nam Dong Ha Ward) Tran Ngoc Long pledged that the company will continue to develop product lines from medicinal herbs and clean, environmentally friendly agricultural products. “We look forward to cooperating with international enterprises, distributors and strategic partners to expand the market, improve product quality and together build a sustainable business community,” Mr. Long expressed.

The B2B direct trade connection conference received the active participation of 60 enterprises and cooperatives from the provinces of the North Central region. Displayed and participating in the connection are regional products that meet production and processing standards for export or have the potential to develop the international market.

The main product groups include: Agricultural products, processed foods, handicrafts, OCOP products, consumer goods, typical rural industrial products... The presence of a large number of domestic enterprises along with careful preparation of products, documents, images, and display models shows the proactiveness and readiness to connect and export goods of the North Central region, while creating favorable conditions to establish substantial, long-term cooperative relationships with international partners.

On the sidelines of the trade connection conference, there was an exhibition and introduction of typical OCOP and rural industrial products of enterprises in the North Central region. Participating products met standards on quality, food hygiene and safety, with full labels, origin, etc. Here, enterprises in the North Central region and partners from Thailand, Japan, China, Laos met and exchanged directly B2B; signed contracts, memorandums of understanding on supply, distribution, and consumption of products. On this occasion, the organizing committee also connected with enterprises providing logistics services and import-export procedures to support enterprises in the process of connecting import and export of goods.

Positive signals from international

One of the outstanding successes showing the special importance of this year's program is the attraction of more than 15 foreign enterprises and distributors from potential and strategic markets: Thailand, China, Japan, Laos. The presence of enterprises from countries with large consumption and distribution capacity is not only a testament to the appeal, prestige and potential of products in the North Central region, but also a positive signal showing the increasingly enhanced position of the region in the regional and global supply chain.

This is a great opportunity for domestic enterprises not only to access new export markets, but also to establish long-term bilateral and multilateral trade cooperation, promote technology transfer, improve production capacity and gradually bring Vietnamese products into international distribution systems.

Mr. Zheng Yiping added that his company has a great demand for agricultural products such as pepper and cassava chips and he knows that Quang Tri province has these products with good quality. He hopes to find partners through this conference.

“We hope to continue cooperation between the Quang Tri provincial government, the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency - Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, the Vivina National Digital Platform, enterprises of provinces and cities in the North Central region of Vietnam and our company in the field of trade, to bring agricultural products of the region to the Chinese and international markets,” said Mr. Zheng Yiping.

Deputy Director of the Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion of Quang Tri Province, Tran Phi Tuong, said that the special feature of this year's program is the combination of trade promotion with investment promotion, emphasizing the work of promoting and mobilizing domestic and foreign enterprises and investors to research and survey the potential and strengths of raw material resources in the North Central region to implement projects and manufacturing and processing factories.

“Through on-site surveys at factories and raw material areas (such as medicinal herbs, agricultural products, food, etc.), we want to attract the attention of businesses and promote a wave of investment in the production and processing sector in the region. This is a practical solution to increase the added value of regional products, develop a sustainable supply chain and create a driving force for long-term economic growth for the locality,” said Mr. Tuong.
