Banking stocks are still the main weight in PYN Elite's holdings. In June, the fund's update said that DXS, STB and OCB were the three stocks with the strongest growth in the portfolio, helping PYN Elite's performance to be positive. Of which, STB increased by 14.7% and OCB increased by 10.4%.
On the contrary, three securities stocks, VCI, SHS and VIX, decreased by 0.7%, 1.5% and 1.9% respectively, the largest decrease in the fund's holdings.
This investment fund assessed that the National Assembly 's official approval of the Law amending and supplementing a number of articles of the Law on Credit Institutions will help significantly enhance the capacity to handle bad debt, improve liquidity and accelerate the recovery of collateral assets in the future for banks.
The National Assembly also approved important mechanisms to attract the private sector to participate in large-scale infrastructure projects. This opens up a new approach to capital sources instead of relying entirely on the State budget. With this new funding model, the North-South High-Speed Railway project is expected to start construction in December 2026.
Vietnam’s economy recorded strong growth in the second quarter of 2025, with GDP estimated to increase by 7.6% year-on-year, pushing the growth rate for the first half of the year to 7.3%. The tourism industry flourished, welcoming 9.2 million international visitors in the first five months of the year (up 21.3% year-on-year) and is still on track to reach the target of 22 million visitors for the whole year.
PYN Elite also updated information on the tariff agreement between the US and Vietnam with a 20% tax rate, increasing to 40% for goods identified as “in transit”. However, the criteria for determining and implementing this transit tax rate have not been clarified. In contrast, goods exported from the US to Vietnam will be exempt from tax.
