On the evening of January 11th, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) released information stating that it would take appropriate action to address inaccurate information regarding statements made by VFF leaders and images of the Vietnamese national team.

The VFF emphasized: "Some false and fabricated information about the Vietnamese national team and the VFF needs to be dealt with seriously."
Immediately after the Vietnamese national team won the ASEAN Cup 2024 (AFF Cup), some social media sites used images of VFF leaders and some members of the Vietnamese national team associated with false content, seriously affecting the reputation and honor of Vietnamese football in general, the VFF and individuals belonging to the VFF in particular, with the aim of attracting views and public attention.
Authorities intervene to protect the Vietnamese national team.
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) requests that social media platforms immediately cease disseminating this information. The VFF will cooperate with relevant authorities to strictly handle violations in accordance with the law.
The Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) advises fans to be cautious when accessing information on social media, always verifying sources to avoid being misled, misunderstanding, and potentially acting wrongly, inadvertently contributing to the spread of harmful and toxic information that damages the image of Vietnamese football and organizations/individuals belonging to the VFF.
