Solar lighting works serve people's travel well, contributing to ensuring security and order in the Kien Giang border area.
Responding to the activities of the National Day for National Security Protection in 2024 in Ha Tien City, the Youth Union of Kien Giang Provincial Police coordinated with the Youth Union of the People's Police University and the Ha Tien City Youth Union to deploy the youth project "Lighting up the border" in Xa Xia neighborhood, My Duc ward.
Major Truong Van Quoc, Head of the Youth Department of Kien Giang Provincial Police, said that the "Lighting up the Border" project was installed with solar lights with a length of about 1,000m. This is an existing residential road adjacent to the border with a large population, but there is no lighting system, affecting the travel needs of people at night, as well as affecting the security and order situation in the locality.
“Given the actual difficulties and travel needs of people living in the border area, we have deployed the construction of a solar-powered lighting project to better serve the travel needs of local people, contributing to ensuring security and order in the border area,” Major Truong Van Quoc shared.
Previously, at Tien Hai Commune People's Committee, Kien Giang Provincial Police Youth Union, Drug Crime Investigation Police Department, People's Police University also coordinated with Tien Hai Commune Party Committee - People's Committee to organize propaganda on drug prevention and control laws for local people and youth.
At the propaganda session, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Ngoc Chung - Deputy Head of the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department - disseminated to local people and youth how to recognize types of drugs, the harmful effects of drugs on individuals, families and society; and legal regulations on drug crimes. The forces also distributed 500 fans printed with propaganda content on drug prevention to the people. In addition, in order to effectively implement the construction of drug-free border and island communes and wards, the Provincial Police Youth Union coordinated to develop the model "Youth Team 4 no on drugs" to enhance the role and responsibility of youth in drug prevention and control.
In addition, the Provincial Police Youth Union coordinated with local authorities to collect trash at the beach in response to the program "Let's clean the sea" to raise people's awareness to contribute to protecting the marine environment and developing local tourism .
Kien Giang Provincial Police also presented 40 gifts to disadvantaged people in the locality and 100 national flags to fishing boats affirming sovereignty over the sacred waters of the Fatherland.
