On July 23, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health announced the results of the inspection and assessment of hospital quality in 2024, including 162 public and private hospitals in the area after the merger.

Specifically, in 2024, Ho Chi Minh City will have 12 hospitals scoring over 900/1,000 points, led by Binh Dan Hospital with 964.15 points.

Next are Gia Dinh People's Hospital (963.51 points); Tam Anh General Hospital (962.57 points); City Children's Hospital (956.12 points); Hung Vuong Hospital (954.99 points); Children's Hospital 1 (947.16 points); People's Hospital 115 (936.25 points).

Next are Thu Duc City Hospital (928.34 points); Tropical Diseases Hospital (907.30 points); Oncology Hospital (906.82 points); Vinmec Central Park International General Hospital (906.52 points) and Hoan My Saigon General Hospital (902.84 points).

In addition, the highest ranked hospital in the former Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is Vung Tau Hospital (ranked 35).

Hospitals are evaluated on a maximum total score of 1,000 with 6 groups of content: Information and data on hospital activities; Hospital quality assessment; Survey of patient and medical staff satisfaction; Inspection of emergency and intensive care work; Inspection of implementation of urgent instructions of the Government and the Ministry of Health ; Inspection of responses to some documents serving management work.

In addition, the satisfaction survey continued to reflect a clear improvement trend: 98.4% of outpatients and 99.2% of inpatients were satisfied with the service, while the satisfaction rate of medical staff reached 93.8%, an increase of nearly 4% compared to 2023.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, publicizing quality assessment results helps hospitals clearly identify their position in the health system, thereby proactively developing appropriate improvement strategies.

This is also a testament to the city's health sector's commitment to improving transparency in the quality of health services for the people.

Statistics on medical activities in the first 6 months of 2025 show that Ho Chi Minh City received more than 22.4 million outpatient visits, an increase of 10.5% over the same period last year; the number of inpatient treatments also increased by 9.9%, reaching more than 1 million cases.

Meanwhile, Binh Duong recorded outstanding growth with 2.5 million visits (up 46.6%) and 126,000 inpatients (up 5.9%). Ba Ria - Vung Tau recorded 1.9 million visits (down 4.4%) and 153,000 inpatients (up 4.4%).
