On the afternoon of September 26, the Ministry of Finance Trade Union had a working session with the Nghe An Department of Finance on supporting housing construction for poor and near-poor households in the area.
Attending the event were Mr. Bui Xuan Ngoc - Member of the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Civil Servants' Trade Union, Permanent Vice President of the Ministry of Finance Trade Union; Ms. Ngo Thi Nhung - Deputy Director of the Department of Financial Planning, President of the Ministry of Finance Trade Union. On the side of Nghe An Department of Finance, there were Mr. Trinh Thanh Hai - Director of the Department of Finance and representatives of departments and offices.

Implementing the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025, striving to basically complete the elimination of temporary and dilapidated housing in Nghe An province by the end of 2025, Nghe An Provincial Party Committee issued Directive No. 21-CT/TU dated February 10, 2023 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on strengthening the Party's leadership in mobilizing and supporting the construction and repair of houses for the poor and people with housing difficulties in Nghe An province.
According to statistics, Nghe An province currently has 14,400 poor households, near-poor households, and households with housing difficulties. Through screening, there are 13,814 cases in need of support for housing construction and repair.

The Provincial Party Committee and Provincial People's Committee have issued many documents directing the implementation of the program, directing departments, branches and sectors to deploy the contents according to their assigned functions and tasks: Connecting, mobilizing, calling on organizations and individuals with goodwill to contribute and support the program. In particular, Nghe An Department of Finance was assigned the target of supporting 100 houses, equivalent to 5 billion VND (each house costs 50 million VND).
On the other hand, in 2023, the Nghe An Department of Finance was assigned by the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee to help Hanh Dich commune, a poor commune in the border district of Que Phong. Currently, the commune has 316 poor households and 169 near-poor households out of a total of 822 households, accounting for 59%.
At the working session, the delegation of the Ministry of Finance's Trade Union presented funding to support the construction and repair of 50 houses for poor and near-poor households in Nghe An with a total cost of 2.5 billion VND.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Trinh Thanh Hai - Director of the Department of Finance, outlined the situation of natural conditions, terrain, and population in Nghe An, in which the number of poor and near-poor households is still high. In recent times, Nghe An province, departments, branches, and local authorities have joined hands to support the construction of houses for families in difficult circumstances, poor and near-poor households in the area, but the number is still very large.

Mr. Bui Xuan Ngoc said that the Ministry of Finance has also grasped the situation of the number of poor and near-poor households in Nghe An province. The Ministry of Finance's Trade Union has reported to the Ministry's leaders, balancing resources to be able to accompany and support Nghe An province. It is hoped that after the money is transferred, Nghe An province will receive and quickly implement the construction and repair of houses for poor and near-poor households, especially during the upcoming rainy and stormy season.
Ms. Ngo Thi Nhung also hopes that Nghe An province and the Department of Finance will select appropriate support subjects, in accordance with regulations, and with the right people so that poor and near-poor households can soon have a safe place to live.

The leaders of the Department of Finance sincerely thank the Ministry of Finance's Trade Union for its support and assistance to the province and pledge to review and select appropriate beneficiaries in accordance with the law, and soon deploy the program to the poor in the area.
