Handling nearly 9,000 cases of traffic order and safety violations
In the first 6 months of 2024, all levels, sectors and localities have proactively taken action, synchronously and drastically deployed solutions to ensure traffic order and safety in the province.

The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee, sectors and localities have organized dozens of propaganda sessions to disseminate laws on traffic order and safety with more than 3,000 participants; Lao Cai Newspaper and the Provincial Radio and Television Station have posted hundreds of news, articles, photos, reports and short clips on social networking platforms about ensuring traffic order and safety...


In addition to propagating and disseminating legal education on traffic order and safety, the traffic police force in the whole province has established 6,186 patrol and control teams with 30,517 officers and soldiers participating; handled 8,957 violations; fined more than 23.4 billion VND; temporarily detained 4,240 vehicles (188 cars; 4,051 motorbikes, 1 other vehicle); revoked driving licenses for 2,199 cases. Thematic violations: Speeding violations 2,987 cases, fined 5.6 billion VND; alcohol concentration violations 2,605 cases, fined 8.926 billion VND; violations of overloading, oversized cargo, and cargo extensions 223 cases (101 drivers, 122 vehicle owners), fined 1.6 billion VND.
The authorities also recorded 561 cases of traffic safety and order violations involving students, imposing fines of over VND321 million; temporarily impounded 436 motorbikes and 5 other vehicles. Of these, 305 cases involved people under the age to drive; 43 cases involved giving the vehicle to unqualified drivers...




In the first 6 months of 2024, the traffic inspection force conducted 13 planned inspections, issued 48 administrative violation records for drivers and vehicle owners; total fines were more than 503 million VND; driving licenses were temporarily revoked in 16 cases; and vehicle badges were temporarily revoked in 4 cases.
Traffic accidents are decreasing.
With the strong direction of the Government, the Prime Minister , the National Traffic Safety Committee, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and the active participation of all levels, sectors and localities, traffic accidents in the province are gradually decreasing (in April, there were 27 accidents, 9 deaths, 24 injuries; in May, there were 22 accidents, 7 deaths, 16 injuries; in June, there were 17 accidents, 4 deaths, 18 injuries). There were no inland waterway traffic accidents.

Traffic order and safety during holidays and Tet are well ensured. The review and handling of black spots, potential spots, and shortcomings in traffic infrastructure are always given attention. Patrol and control work is vigorously implemented by the authorities...
In addition to the achieved results, the work of ensuring traffic order and safety still has shortcomings and limitations: The compliance awareness of a part of the people has not really changed in a positive direction; the rate of alcohol concentration violations is still high; there are still cases of speeding, reckless driving, and picking up passengers along the road in passenger transport activities; the progress of some projects has not met requirements due to slow site clearance...
Deploying many solutions to reduce traffic accidents







At the conference, delegates discussed, pointed out the shortcomings and limitations and proposed solutions to reduce traffic accidents in the coming time. The focus was on propagating and disseminating legal education on traffic order and safety in many forms, to the right subjects; strengthening patrols, control and handling of violations of traffic order and safety, no restricted areas, no exceptions; applying science and technology in handling violations of traffic order and safety...

Concluding the conference, comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee requested all levels, sectors and localities to strictly implement the directives of the Secretariat, the Government, the Prime Minister and the plans of the Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial People's Committee; the district-level traffic safety committee must issue a plan to deploy specific tasks every quarter and implement it effectively; pay special attention to ensuring traffic safety for students; regularly conduct surprise inspections of students' use of means of transport at schools; publicly identify violators of traffic order and safety, especially officials and party members; have solutions to ensure traffic safety at construction sites; urgently arrange capital to complete traffic safety school gates; strengthen patrolling, control and handling of violations of traffic order and safety, no restricted areas, no exceptions...
