Bringing technology closer to people and spreading practical values to life is the goal of these young people.
Thu Duc Innovation Fest 2024 - The first International Festival of Science, Technology and Innovation of Thu Duc City in 2024 took place at Saigon Riverside Park last November, creating an unprecedentedly exciting atmosphere for the technology-loving community. With 2 live broadcasts, 16 livestream sessions and 3 competitions, seminars, trade events... creating a space for connection and spreading the spirit of innovation widely. It is even more special when many faces contributing to the success of the festival are very young, including Thich Y Nhi (27 years old, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee).
Nurturing knowledge
Thu Duc Innovation Fest 2024 with the theme "Digital transformation and application of science and technology " attracted about 115,000 direct attendees and more than 12.5 million online followers.
Thich Y Nhi is full of energy, inspiring and cheering for the contestants at The Next Innovator 2024 competition.
To have 3 days of exciting and engaging activities, Nhi and her colleagues came up with ideas and carefully prepared with the locality, agencies, corporations, and prestigious domestic and foreign companies to provide people with the opportunity to experience technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), autonomous robots and technological solutions for life. This place not only introduces modern technology but also acts as a bridge to help businesses innovate and apply technology to reach the public.
Y Nhi is passionate about inspiring children to boldly apply basic science to life.
For Nhi, technology is a passion and one of the effective ways to disseminate useful knowledge is through media and journalism. For many years, Nhi has been attached to the role of program host and also the founder and production director of many technology programs broadcast on HTV such as CafeTek, Made by Vietnam, Night to Shine.
Realizing that the young generation is the one who needs to be nurtured with knowledge and love for technology, Nhi devotes a lot of enthusiasm to projects related to children, notably the contest "Innovation for the future - The Next Innovator 2024". This is a creative contest in the field of biology - chemistry for teenagers, implemented within the framework of the Tomorrow Space Youth Creative Space project implemented by CafeTek and the Center for Trade and Investment Promotion of Thu Duc City. Thereby, encouraging children to apply scientific knowledge and protect the environment.
Inspire positive living
Although Nhi started school two years later than her peers, she did not feel inferior. For her, learning does not only depend on books but also on the outside world . Thanks to early access to computers and the internet, Nhi improved her knowledge. Her proficient computer skills also helped Nhi have a part-time job with a stable income while still in school.

Director Quoc Trung - who specializes in producing technology programs for HTV - said that he always puts his trust in this young girl because of her new ideas and steadfast spirit, especially her courage in leading teams to complete many "difficult" projects. For Bui Khanh Ngoc (25 years old, a close collaborator in technology television projects with Nhi), it is her open heart and constant concern for the disadvantaged that has helped Nhi be loved and easily inspire others to live positively and be socially responsible.
Y Nhi encourages children to participate in a series of practical experience activities, practice skills, build and present ideas.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, CafeTek and Gojek Vietnam quickly launched the campaign "Leave no one behind". Nhi had the initiative to connect many housewives, vendors, motorbike taxi drivers... to create conditions for them to start a business on a digital platform, switching from offline business or work to online to maintain their livelihoods. Cooking courses, financial management, providing mobile applications... helped many people in difficult circumstances adapt to the "new normal" period after a series of social distancing measures. This campaign won the Asia-Pacific PR Award Gold Award, category "Campaigns that bring positive impacts to the community to overcome the impact of the pandemic".
The desire to learn and constantly improve her own capacity helps Y Nhi have a strong will and reap many achievements. The work "AI and the fear of being replaced?" that Nhi's group produced won the B prize - Science and Technology Journalism Award in 2023. This year, the group of young people continued to make their mark at the National Journalism Award for the cause of Vietnamese education in 2024, with the work "When the dream of being a scientist is no longer far away" receiving the C prize.
