Hoang Duc became the center of attention in the derby match between home team Ninh Binh and Nam Dinh in round 4 of V-League on September 22. The 27-year-old midfielder contributed 1 goal and indirectly helped teammate Do Thanh Thinh score to seal a 2-0 victory for the team of the ancient capital Hoa Lu.

Having been criticized for deciding to leave The Cong Viettel to join the First Division team Ninh Binh FC last year, Hoang Duc has proven that he made the right choice.
