The process of creating new rice varieties takes 4 years, going through the stages of selecting lines, domesticating, maintaining gene sources, isolating, monitoring each line and each variety, then testing and certifying to meet national standards before transferring production. This process requires many factors, including people, technology, experience, funding, time... Quang Ninh Seed Joint Stock Company always has a team of skilled, responsible technical staff, passionate about scientific research on rice variety selection. The company has established a Center for Research, Selection, and Testing of Varieties, and has long been a pioneer in participating in implementing scientific research topics and tasks to test new rice varieties of the province and the country. Currently, over 98% of the seeds produced and supplied by the company are products formed from the results of scientific and technological research.

In recent years, Quang Ninh Seed Joint Stock Company has invested in the reasonable application of modern equipment and technology in production, currently the mechanization rate is 90%, thereby reducing manual steps, utilizing human power in scientific work. Typically, the Company has upgraded the warehouse for storing and preserving rice seeds, invested in goods lifting machines, product packaging machines, dryers, invested in seedling houses, switched from traditional planting to using tray seedlings, transplanters, concretized all plots and fields, used unmanned aerial vehicles to spray pesticides... in the near future, it will continue to upgrade the seed drying rack. This investment helps Quang Ninh Seed Joint Stock Company increase its loading and unloading capacity from 10 tons to 30 tons/day, promptly meeting the quantity and time for farmers to plant seeds on the right schedule; Speed ​​up rice planting progress, increase rice drying capacity to 30 tons/day, thanks to that, rice harvested from the field is brought to dry, after 30 hours it can be bagged to supply to farmers...

Currently, in the trend of increasingly narrowing cultivated area, including rice growing area, for Quang Ninh, according to the plan by 2030, rice land will decrease from 26,000ha to 16,000ha... creating a demand for rice varieties with outstanding yield, high quality, increasing output on cultivated area.
