Strengthened propaganda work for people to protect power grid corridors; propagated and advised people to strictly comply with preventive measures and use electricity safely; when storms, floods occur, do not take shelter under power lines, transformer stations and other electrical works.
Directing subordinate units, district, city and town electricity to focus on periodic maintenance and testing of electrical equipment; checking warehouses, materials, means of communication, checking and reviewing the status of equipment on power lines and transformer stations, promptly detecting abnormal phenomena to fix and repair before the flood season. Fully prepare equipment and tools to fix incidents, ensure smooth communication to serve the direction and implementation of timely and effective response plans.
During peak hours, ensure 100% of the staff on duty at the units, ready to operate at key locations, coordinate to cut off power lines and transformer stations when there is rain or strong wind that can cause safety risks to people and equipment. Before entering the flood season, Son La Power Company organized a drill on the plan for disaster prevention - search and rescue - emergency response - incident handling in 2025, with the participation of more than 160 officers, employees of departments, offices and affiliated units. The drill with 10 hypothetical situations on the power grid system close to reality, helped improve the level of organization and command of disaster prevention and response of the Company's leaders and the close and synchronous coordination and cooperation according to the motto "4 on-site" between affiliated units in handling situations flexibly, quickly and in accordance with technical procedures; ready to ensure safety for the power system, minimize damage caused by natural disasters. In particular, it improved the effectiveness of applying technology to command, response and prevention of natural disasters, meeting the requirements of digital transformation in the National Electricity Group.
Mr. Nguyen Huu Nghi, Director of Electricity of Mai Son - Yen Chau area, informed: The unit manages 8 medium voltage lines, the length of the line is over 1,000 km, the low voltage line is over 1,000 km; 700 transformer stations distribute and sell electricity to 74,669 electricity customers. To ensure power supply and safety during the rainy season, the unit has reviewed and implemented industrial cleaning of the entire system of porcelain beams, power lines, and transformer stations; reinforced the foundations of columns at places at risk of landslides; added grounding, replaced porcelain that did not meet technical standards and handled the contacts on the power line system. During the peak months of the rainy season, the unit increases workers to check and review the operating status of equipment, power line systems, check and measure grounding resistance, lightning protection equipment for power lines, distribution transformer stations, and handle safety corridors to protect the power grid, especially in communes where incidents and landslides often occur, such as: Phieng Pan (Yen Chau), Phieng Cam, Chieng Noi, Ta Hoc, Chieng Sung (Mai Son).
With proactive and prepared plans for natural disaster prevention, Son La Power Company has always ensured safe and stable power supply in recent years. Not being subjective to unusual weather developments, the unit's PCTT&TKCN Command Board thoroughly informed staff and workers about natural disaster prevention plans, incident handling, ensuring that they are not caught off guard in situations where floods may occur.
