Software company sponsors employees to run Hanoi Midnight for two consecutive years

DTS Software Vietnam Company purchased 35 Hanoi Midnight 2023 prize Bibs for employees participating in many distances.

This is the second year that DTS Software Vietnam has sponsored its employees to run the VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight with the hope of a strong sports movement developing within the company. That spirit was also clearly demonstrated by the members when they arrived very early, bringing a cart to the Expo area on the afternoon of November 24 to complete the procedures to receive 35 sets of Bib and race-kit.

Phuong Thao and three DTS colleagues pushed the cart to each counter to get the Bib because each person registered for a different distance. She said that everyone was still working, and she was in the administrative department so she took on this task.

"We only chose VnExpress Marathon to register for the group because this is a big tournament, has prestige and is organized right in Hanoi , convenient for many people," Phuong Thao said.

Learning from last year's experience, this year she had a list with QR codes and valid authorization papers of each member in hand. After about 30 minutes, 35 race-kit bags filled the car, ready to return to the headquarters, and delivered to the staff of DTS Software Vietnam.

VnExpress Marathon Hanoi Midnight 2023 Ioniq 5 Cup is an event in the company's series of cultural and sports activities. Last year, they enjoyed the sports atmosphere, checking in together on the streets of Hanoi in the night race. Those are unforgettable memories, causing the company to continuously sponsor expenses for employees to run this season.

The company's motto is to create a healthy working environment, but due to the nature of the job, software engineers have to sit in one place and work with computers a lot. Therefore, this unit has allocated a fund to encourage physical activities.

Before the tournament opened the Early Bird registration portal, the company gathered the list and sent the information to the organizing committee. Later, the Bib price increased but the demand for running from employees increased, so they gathered the second batch of names. In addition to officers, employees, and engineers, the event also attracted department heads and senior leaders.

Before the tournament, to create a training atmosphere, the company set an internal challenge. "When members complete the challenge, they will convert the number of kilometers into trees to plant trees to create forests. In addition, each person who accumulates 1 km will receive 1,000 VND and many other gifts for running," said Ms. Thao.

Early morning of November 26, Phuong Thao and the remaining 34 members will gather at Hoan Kiem Lake area, in the company's colors, joining 11,000 athletes conquering the race. In addition to the individual race, 52 clubs with 1,300 athletes will compete in the team category - nearly double the number of athletes from the previous tournament.

This year, a completely new route has been set up, taking the 21km and 42km runners across the Vinh Tuy and Long Bien bridges. The full marathon runners will start at 1am. Half marathon runners will start 30 minutes later. The 10km and 5km races will start at 4am and 5am respectively.
