In recent days, the image of the Sun surrounded by a circle has spread strongly on mass media and social networks.
The above image was taken by people in many localities such as Lang Son, Bac Kan , Ha Nam, Quang Ngai, Ho Chi Minh City.
The above images attract attention, because this phenomenon rarely appears continuously for many days, and can be observed in many places.
Recently, on May 15, many people and Buddhists visiting and worshiping at Tam Chuc Pagoda also had the opportunity to admire the above miraculous natural phenomenon, before the day of the procession of Buddha's relics to Tam Chuc Pagoda.
According to the Department of Hydrometeorology ( Ministry of Agriculture and Environment ), the above miraculous natural phenomenon is called a sun halo. Sun halos often appear on days with good weather, the sky is covered by a thin layer of clouds called Cs clouds.
This is a very thin, transparent cloud layer, existing at an average altitude of 6-8km above the ground and is made up of ice crystals.
Halos are formed as a refraction of light passing through this layer of ice crystals. It is different from rainbows which are the refraction of light passing through an atmosphere filled with water droplets.
Interestingly, the radius of the circle corresponding to the solar halo is 22 degrees of angle, from our perspective, so it is also called the "22 Degree Halo."
Over the years, people have also observed the above phenomenon in Vietnam.
With data and scientific research, the Department of Hydrometeorology advises people to rest assured because this is not an unusual sign in nature./.
