Tax Department announces temporary suspension of electronic tax systems for upgrading

For more than 5 days, from 5:00 p.m. on March 12, 2025 to 8:00 a.m. on March 17, 2025, the Tax Department will temporarily suspend a number of electronic tax systems to upgrade and convert tax authority categories.

eTax Mobile application will be temporarily suspended from 5:00 p.m. on March 12, 2025 to 8:00 a.m. on March 17, 2025 for upgrading.

The Tax Department has just issued Notice No. 41/TB-CT dated March 12, 2024 on the temporary suspension of electronic tax systems to serve the upgrading to meet the restructuring and arrangement of tax agencies.

"During the implementation process, if there are any problems, taxpayers can temporarily contact the Tax Department's support channels at phone number 024.37689679 (extension 2180) or email address nhomhttdt@gdt.gov.vn or other support channels at tax agencies."

Accordingly, the Tax Department said that, implementing the plan and policy of the National Assembly and the Government on restructuring and reorganizing the state apparatus, on February 26, 2025, the Ministry of Finance issued Decision No. 381/QD-BTC stipulating the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure of the Tax Department, including organizing and implementing the model of 20 regional Tax Branches and 350 district-level Tax Teams to replace the 63 Tax Departments and affiliated Tax Branches before.

To implement the new model, the Tax Department announced the suspension of some electronic tax systems to upgrade and convert categories from 5:00 p.m. on March 12, 2025 to 8:00 a.m. on March 17, 2025. Outside of this time, tax systems operate normally.

"Taxpayers continue to carry out tax administrative procedures (except electronic tax payment) on electronic tax channels, directly receive, and post during the upgrading and conversion process. However, the settlement and return of results may be delayed, so the tax authority is very sorry and hopes to receive the understanding of taxpayers," the tax authority's announcement stated.
