Recently, many people have reported experiencing inconvenience when logging in and using the VNeID application - electronic identification.
Specifically, feedback included difficulties logging into accounts, slow internet connections causing interruptions, and devices with weak configurations hindering login attempts.
At the press conference on the first six months of 2023, organized by the Ministry of Public Security on the morning of June 30th, Major General Nguyen Quoc Hung - Director of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (C06 - Ministry of Public Security) - spoke out to explain.
According to Mr. Hung, the Ministry of Public Security has issued over 45 million electronic identification accounts to date. The operation and application of VNeID has proven effective in serving the public.
Regarding the difficulties people are experiencing when using the VNeID application, Major General Nguyen Quoc Hung said that currently, the number of activated accounts is very large, which affects access during certain hours.
Due to a sudden surge in registrations and usage, some users experienced slow login times. This occurred between 7 PM and 9 PM daily. Besides the surge in users, congestion at certain times also depends on the network providers.
According to Major General Hung, slow access to applications is also due to people's phones having low specifications and full memory capacity. This leads to slow processing and application execution speeds.
"The C06 Department of the Ministry of Public Security has proactively coordinated closely with network operators, strengthening and expanding transmission lines, improving processing speed, and meeting the requirements of citizens and businesses," said Major General Nguyen Quoc Hung.
Major General Nguyen Quoc Hung also informed that the Ministry of Public Security is currently strengthening the implementation of Project 06, researching, deploying, and expanding the utilities and applications of VNeID to serve citizens and businesses. With the level 2 VNeID application replacing some documents, it contributes to administrative reform, creating favorable conditions for citizens and businesses to access interconnected online public services.
Recently, the Department of Administrative Management of Public Order and Security has deployed the VNeID passenger identity verification application at airports, replacing some types of personal documents. This has initially brought great benefits to citizens, businesses, and society.
The Director of Department C06 also recommended that if people encounter any difficulties or problems related to chip-embedded citizen identification cards, electronic identification accounts, or VNeID, they can ask questions on the Department C06 website or through the hotline. The unit will answer, guide, and support them 24/7.
