On the afternoon of June 21st, Cluster No. 3 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a conference to review the emulation and reward work for the first six months of the year and to implement tasks for the last six months of 2024.

Attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hieu, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; and leaders of the Departments of Foreign Affairs of 9 provinces and cities: Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien Hue, Da Nang , Quang Nam, and Quang Ngai.

In the first six months of 2024, units in Emulation Cluster No. 3 organized movements related to the emulation theme "Strongly promoting the pioneering role of foreign affairs, striving to build a strong, comprehensive, modern, and dedicated sector serving the Party, State, and People" launched by the Minister of Foreign Affairs; at the same time, actively implementing the foreign affairs tasks set out, contributing to the successful implementation of the local socio -economic development plan.

Ms. Tran Thi Thu Hang, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of Thanh Hoa province and Deputy Head of Emulation Cluster No. 3 - Ministry of Foreign Affairs, delivered the opening remarks at the conference.
The entire cluster has advised on and resolved procedures for sending 493 delegations with 1,668 people on overseas business trips; organized the reception of 650 international delegations with 5,051 people visiting and working in the province and cities in accordance with regulations. It has advised on the effective implementation of cooperation activities with localities in Laos, especially provinces sharing a border, thereby contributing to consolidating and fostering the special solidarity, close friendship, and friendship between Vietnam and Laos. It has continued to effectively mobilize foreign non-governmental aid to fund and support the implementation of more than 300 programs, projects, and non-project activities with a total committed budget of 37.97 million USD...

In addition, the units have done well in organizing international conferences and seminars and signing international agreements; promoting economic diplomacy activities; organizing cultural and artistic exchanges with localities; coordinating with foreign partners to organize activities to introduce and promote partners in the locality...

At the conference, the participating units discussed and evaluated the achievements, as well as the difficulties and limitations, in the field of foreign affairs at the local level; and at the same time, proposed measures to overcome them in the future.

Building on the achievements already made, the units in Emulation Cluster No. 3 - Ministry of Foreign Affairs have set forth several key tasks for the last six months of 2024, namely: Continuing to promptly and fully disseminate the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws on foreign affairs and emulation and reward work. Strengthening the leadership role of the Party Committee/Party Committee at all levels, and the close coordination between the Party Committee/Party Committee, the government, and mass organizations (Trade Union, Youth Union) to further develop emulation movements in a more vigorous and practical manner. Organizing and effectively implementing emulation and reward work within the unit, the emulation blocs in the province, and Emulation Cluster No. 3 - Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Continuing to promote and encourage civil servants, public employees, and workers in the cluster to strive to successfully complete the key work plans of the units in 2024.
