Ms. Le Thi Thu Thuy - Vice President of Vingroup Corporation - said that Phu Quoc is aiming to become a model of "green island - smart city - zero emissions", while affirming its pioneering role in green and sustainable development.

Ms. Thuy added that Vingroup Corporation wishes to accompany Kien Giang and Phu Quoc in researching solutions to contribute to promoting the goal of green transformation, digitalization and sustainable development in many areas such as comprehensive greening of transportation (converting public vehicles, tourist service vehicles, motorbikes - private cars to electric vehicles).

In addition, it is developing charging infrastructure and renewable energy (deploying and installing a network of charging stations...); increasing product coverage and experience (expanding the showroom network and organizing test drive experience points in central areas, residential areas and tourist destinations).

At the same time, promote raising public awareness about the benefits of green transformation and electrification of transport, digital transformation, smart green urban governance to manage electric vehicles, digital maps of charging stations, smart surveillance cameras...

"With determination, we believe that together with the locality, we will turn Phu Quoc into a model of "green island - smart city - zero emissions", Ms. Thuy emphasized.

Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee informed that the province has 510 electric taxis, including: Rach Gia City has 150 cars, Phu Quoc City has 360 cars and 36 electric buses operating in the transportation business with 3 routes: Ganh Dau - Duong Dong; Duong Dong - Bai Vong and Duong Dong - Duong To.

Personal electric vehicles are being favored and widely used by local people, especially related units connecting travel agencies and tourism businesses in Phu Quoc to aim to bring electric vehicles into the development of tourism services on the island.

Kien Giang has about 20 charging stations, of which Phu Quoc has 3 charging stations; the connection voltage is 22kV; the capacity of the charging stations is only from 50kW to 400kW; the highest output is about 918,428,180 kWh/year.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nhan - Chairman of Kien Giang Provincial People's Committee - informed that Kien Giang will promote green transformation, especially requesting Vingroup Corporation to support the construction of Phu Quoc green transformation project.

On this basis, the locality, Vingroup and related units will have a specific roadmap to synchronously deploy many fields such as green transportation, green infrastructure, green tourism, green energy and green governance, helping Phu Quoc develop sustainably.

"Kien Giang agreed to review and rearrange the charging station system and create a fund to convert to green vehicles in Phu Quoc. The locality mobilized people and businesses to join in this work.

We will join hands to realize the goal of making Phu Quoc develop sustainably and become a model of a green island - smart city - zero emissions in the near future," Mr. Nhan affirmed.
