On special flights, passengers enjoyed a presentation of Vietnam Airlines' flight attendant uniform collection from 1975 to the present day and received special gifts as a token of gratitude for their companionship with the airline over the past 30 years.

In the early 1990s, the traditional ao dai (Vietnamese long dress) was introduced as the official uniform for the first time, marking a significant milestone in shaping the airline's unique cultural identity. At this time, the shirt and midi skirt uniform was used on domestic flights, while the blue ao dai was worn on international flights, demonstrating the national airline's role in bringing Vietnamese culture closer to friends around the world.

Passengers were delighted to receive special gifts and take photos with flight attendants in Vietnam Airlines' old uniforms.

In the early years of Vietnam's civil aviation industry, flight attendant uniforms were simple yet dignified, consisting of a white shirt paired with dark blue trousers. This design reflected the discipline, meticulousness, and elegance characteristic of those pioneers in the skies.

In 1994, the pink ao dai became the sole uniform for female flight attendants of Vietnam Airlines. The uniform design created an elegant look, honoring the beauty of Vietnamese women and Vietnamese culture.

Launched in 2015, the current uniform, in turquoise and yellow, represents a strategic step in Vietnam Airlines' brand identity – an image that is friendly, elegant, and distinctly Vietnamese. The modernized ao dai design harmoniously combines tradition and modernity, ensuring practicality in the in-flight work environment. This uniform helped Vietnam Airlines rank in the Top 3 for the " World's Most Beautiful Airline Uniforms" award, as judged by Cabin Crew 2024.
