The press conference on the organization of the 8th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports and related conferences in Vietnam took place on the morning of May 22 at the Vietnam Sports Administration.
In order to have the best preparation for the event, after the Government Office sent Official Dispatch No. 340/VPCP-QHQT notifying the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son on agreeing to assign the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the 8th ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Sports and related Conferences, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism directed the Vietnam Sports Administration to implement the work, ensure time and progress, and at the same time issue Decisions to establish Sub-committees to undertake specific tasks.
According to the report of the Vietnam Sports Administration on the organization work, up to now, the units are actively implementing the Project Plan. Accordingly, after the draft Project was completed, the International Cooperation Department (Vietnam Sports Administration) held meetings to collect opinions from the units (June, July, August 2024) and completed the draft Project.
The draft of the completed Project has been coordinated by the International Cooperation Department and the International Cooperation Department (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) to collect opinions from relevant agencies to complete the Project and submit it to the Prime Minister for approval.
In addition, the unit has coordinated with the ASEAN Secretariat to submit to the Department's leaders the determination of the Conference time from October 11-18, 2025, including SOMS 16 and AMMS 8; commenting on documents related to ASEAN - FIFA; ASEAN - WADA at the SOMS level; organizing ASEAN events with Japan in Vietnam and participating in ASEAN events in other countries.
In the coming time, the work of completing and supplementing the personnel of the Organizing Committee and the Subcommittees of the Conference will continue to be deployed, assigned tasks, ensuring the completion of the assigned goals according to the assigned schedule.
Director of the Vietnam Sports Administration Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet affirmed that the 8th ASEAN Ministerial Meeting on Sports (AMMS 8) and related meetings in Vietnam are the Ministry's 2025 highlights. Therefore, the plan must be completed, but details need to be provided to each subcommittee.
"In addition, it is necessary to build a roadmap for implementing tasks quickly, and only report to the Ministry's leaders when there is an overall program. The work of each department must be proactive and during the implementation process, if there are any problems, it is necessary to proactively discuss further..." - Director Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet emphasized.
