Japanese coach determined to bring U.19 Vietnam to win the Southeast Asian U.19 Women's Championship

At this time, the Vietnam U.19 women's team is gathering and practicing at Thanh Long Sports Center (HCMC), to prepare for the 2025 Southeast Asian U.19 Women's Championship. Japanese head coach Okiyama Masahiko expressed his satisfaction with the spirit, attitude and seriousness in training of his students over the past 10 days.

Vietnam U.19 women's team sets highest goal

Coach Okiyama Masahiko said that the whole team is working hard every day to reach the highest goal at the 2025 Southeast Asian U.19 Women's Championship. "The players are in very good spirits, united and training seriously. Some have speed, while others have good technique. However, the whole team needs to improve their physical strength to maintain their form throughout 90 minutes of high-intensity competition," the Japanese captain emphasized.

According to Mr. Okiyama Masahiko, the coaching staff has contacted the Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club and some youth men's teams to organize more friendly matches, helping the U.19 Vietnam women's players to compete and gain more battle experience.

The Vietnamese U.19 women's players are practicing seriously, determined to win the Southeast Asian championship at home.

At the 2025 Southeast Asian U.19 Women's Championship, the Vietnam U.19 women's team is in Group A with Myanmar, Laos and Timor Leste. Group B includes Thailand, Indonesia, Cambodia and Malaysia. Although they are in a fairly easy group, coach Okiyama Masahiko affirmed that the team must not be complacent: "Every match is important. Myanmar is considered to be on par with us, so we need to analyze carefully and prepare thoroughly."

Affirming the determination of the Vietnam U.19 women's team, coach Okiyama Masahiko added: "The tournament is held in Vietnam, and our goal is to win the championship. I want the Vietnamese audience to be able to celebrate with the team at home."
