High-level meeting between Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang and Lulu Group leaders

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang highly appreciated the active participation of Lulu Group in the Project "Promoting Vietnamese enterprises to directly participate in foreign distribution networks by 2030", aiming to promote direct links between Vietnamese manufacturing and exporting enterprises with foreign retail distribution networks and importers.

To enhance cooperation between the two sides, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang proposed that Lulu Group coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade in: developing a handbook for Vietnamese enterprises to export to the Lulu system in other countries in general and in the UAE in particular; guiding Vietnamese enterprises to gradually achieve Halal certification to open the door to penetrate the Muslim market; and participating in trade connection sessions with Vietnamese enterprises in localities according to the program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. In addition, Deputy Minister Phan Thi Thang also proposed that the two sides continue to maintain Vietnam Day at the Lulu system in the UAE in the following years so that UAE people have more opportunities to access many Vietnamese products with high quality and competitive prices. The Deputy Minister also invited Lulu Group to Vietnam to attend the Vietnam International Sourcing 2025 event which will take place from September 4 to 6, 2025 at the Ho Chi Minh City International Exhibition Center.

On the Lulu Group side, Mr. Thamban Kanna Poduval said that Lulu is one of the largest retail groups in the UAE, always searching for and bringing to consumers the best quality products, most of Lulu's products are exclusive and Lulu is the first retailer to bring Vietnamese products to the UAE, up to now there are more than 300 Vietnamese products available at the Lulu supermarket system in the UAE.

According to Mr. Mirash Basheer, in Vietnam, Lulu is also training suppliers to obtain Halal certification. In addition to the UAE, Lulu Vietnam has exported Vietnamese products to Qatar, Saudi Arabia, etc.

Both sides agreed that there are still many opportunities and potential for Vietnamese products, especially Halal products, to be exported to the UAE in particular and the Middle East in general.
