People's Artist Tran Nhuong started his career in cinema with the leading role of Tran Van Bang in the film Vet sang nguoc of CAND Cinema (1980), and the role of Bich in Ai chuang, ai thuong (1981). Then he played a series of roles in the films Dem hoi Long Tri, Nhung sao nho, Tinh yeu va ach, Canh su tri, Bao dam...
People's Artist Tran Nhuong has achieved many successes in his career but his personal happiness is not complete. He has been through 3 wives and at the age of over 70 still lives alone. Since separating from his third wife, Tran Nhuong's health has not been good, he has many underlying diseases.

Sharing with VietNamNet reporters, he did not hide the fact that he suffered from a herniated disc and cervical spondylosis. Many days, just standing for a short time made his legs numb and unable to walk. In addition, every time the weather changed, his bones and joints ached. Not to mention that for many years, People's Artist Tran Nhuong had to live with diabetes, gastric reflux, etc. A few years ago, he also had to have gallstone surgery.
He admitted that since living alone, his health has declined rapidly because there is no one to urge him to eat and live on time every day. Currently, People's Artist Tran Nhuong relies on cheap restaurants for his three meals a day.
People's Artist Tran Nhuong has two children, director Binh Trong born in 1973 and actress Anh Phuong currently competing in Miss Universe Vietnam 2025.
People's Artist Tran Nhuong said that his son still invited him to live with them, but he refused because he likes freedom and doesn't want to depend on his children. Talking about his son, he said he no longer worries about anything because Binh Trong has found an artistic direction, which is producing a series of comedy films that are loved by audiences such as Dai gia chan dat (Barefoot Dai Gia) and Lang e vo (Wife Village).
With his daughter Anh Phuong, he often shares on his personal page for friends to vote and support her to compete in Miss Universe Vietnam 2025.
People's Artist Tran Nhuong shared that he has worked with many beauty contest organizers, thereby gaining trust from the organizers and having the experience to choose worthy winners.

Therefore, when Anh Phuong's daughter participated in some beauty pageants, he was quite worried because the male artist wanted to direct his daughter to another field. However, when he saw that Anh Phuong wanted to try her hand, he changed his mind and encouraged her.
"I also advise my children to stop at a certain level or participate in a certain competition. And when they try, they must maintain the identity of Vietnamese women," the male artist expressed.
People's Artist Tran Nhuong shared that he never spoke up to give his children opportunities in the profession and they themselves did not like that.
At the age of 73, he said he lives alone because of fate, but he does not feel lonely because he has children, grandchildren and friends around him who love him. Notably, the artist still regularly performs and sits in the hot seats of competitions when he sees fit.
"After so many years of performing, I have saved enough to take care of my old age. My son occasionally gives me money but I don't take it. That's probably why every time he invites me to participate in a movie, he pays me four times more than usual. My daughter can take care of herself. Now I have no regrets. I have a dream, which is to open a nursing home for artists. My project was supported by many businesses, they were willing to spend money but I couldn't get the land fund and there were many other problems so it was never realized," People's Artist Tran Nhuong shared.
Because of his love of independence, when he gets old and weaker, People's Artist Tran Nhuong wants to live in a place like a nursing home, without having to worry or rely on his children and grandchildren.
"That's my personality, but right now I'm fine. Who knows, maybe one day I'll find someone who wants to be with me, wants to come back and take care of me?", People's Artist Tran Nhuong confided.
