The 2025 National MMA Club Championship officially took place from July 16 to 21 at Bac Ninh University of Physical Education and Sports . This is the first time the tournament has been held. The tournament brings together 160 athletes from 24 clubs in 14 provinces and cities across the country, competing in two age groups: 16-18 and over 18.
The matches are held in a standard 7x7m octagonal cage, with protective equipment according to international MMA standards. In particular, the organizing committee has added many adjustments to the competition rules to suit the level of the movement and ensure the safety of the fighters, especially those in the 16-18 age group. Dangerous moves such as elbow strikes, knee strikes, overhead wrestling or spinal attack techniques are all prohibited.
Organizing the tournament is an important step for the sports industry and the Vietnam Mixed Martial Arts Federation to select and build a national MMA team. This force will represent Vietnam in major tournaments such as the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand, AIMAG 6 in Saudi Arabia in 2025 and ASIAD 20 in Japan in 2026.
The 2025 National Club MMA Tournament is not only the first national-level playground but also the foundation for the journey to bring Vietnamese MMA to the continental level.
