BHG - On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025), on May 27, the Liaison Committee of the 5th Tay Con Linh Battalion organized a trip back to the source, revisiting the old battlefield in Xin Chai commune (Vi Xuyen). Participating in the trip were over 50 veterans who were officers and soldiers who fought at the Vi Xuyen front.

During the journey, the veterans marched to Nhiu Sang village in Xin Chai commune, which was once a fierce battlefield during the years of fighting to protect the border. Here, the veterans recalled traditions, shared memories of battles, and stories of deep comradeship.

The march is an opportunity for generations of veterans to affirm their loyalty to revolutionary ideals, whileeducating the younger generation about patriotism and national pride.
Tay Con Linh Battalion 5 was established in 1984, under the Military Command of Vi Xuyen District. In 1985, it was mobilized to take over Battalion 7, Regiment 14, Division 313, with the task of blocking and defending the Lao Chai front (Vi Xuyen) until the border situation stabilized.
