The training course in France was organized within the framework of cooperation between the Vietnam Sports Department, the Vietnam-France Friendship Association and the Francophone Sports Association. This is the first time the women's athletics team has participated in this program, in order to gain experience and test international training conditions.
The team consists of coach Nguyen Thi Bac and four players Nguyen Thi Hang, Le Thi Tuyet Mai, Hoang Thi Minh Hanh and Nguyen Thi Ngoc. Over the course of three weeks, the team focused on improving their endurance, speed and coordination, key elements for the relay event. “Each athlete has made significant progress, both physically and technically. After returning to Vietnam, we will continue to maintain our training program to achieve peak performance,” said a representative of the coaching staff.
The Vietnam Sports Administration considers this an important preparatory step, while also opening up a direction for long-term cooperation for other teams in the future.
During the training period, the team's technical indicators were periodically reported to the Vietnam Sports Administration to monitor progress. According to the representative of the Vietnam athletics team's coaching staff, the training session helped the athletes relax, creating a foundation for them to approach the 33rd SEA Games with the highest confidence.
The Vietnamese women's 4x400m relay team is the golden hope of the country's athletics. At the 32nd SEA Games (2023), the team won the Gold Medal with a time of 3 minutes 33 seconds 05. A year later, the girls continued to set a national record of 3 minutes 30 seconds 81 when they won the 2024 Asian Athletics Relay Championship in Thailand. At the 2025 Asian Championship, the team won the Silver Medal with a time of 3 minutes 34 seconds 77.
