(Dan Tri) - On the morning of September 17, the 1st Congress of the Da Nang City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, opened. On behalf of the Politburo, Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu attended and delivered a speech directing the congress.

The Standing Secretariat warmly congratulated and commended the efforts and comprehensive results that the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang city have achieved in the past term, making an important contribution to the overall achievements of the country.

Mr. Tran Cam Tu also affirmed that with the tradition of solidarity, unity, dynamism, creativity, determination and resoluteness, the Party Committee, government and people of Da Nang city have overcome all difficulties and challenges, strived to achieve many important results and basically completed the set goals and tasks.

The Standing Secretary of the Secretariat said that Da Nang city has actively coordinated with central ministries and branches to speed up the progress of key projects such as Lien Chieu port, upgrading Da Nang international airport, socializing investment in Chu Lai airport, upgrading and renovating national highways, contributing to socio-economic development and changing the urban landscape.

Urban management, construction order, resources and environment work has been carried out resolutely, with many clear changes.

Da Nang has effectively implemented solutions to improve the investment environment and promote innovative startups, winning many awards and titles in the fields of information technology, digital transformation, startups and innovation for many consecutive years.

Party building and political system work has been promoted and has many positive changes.

“In the context of changes in key officials in the first half of the term, the Executive Committee and the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee have maintained solidarity and unity, and seriously led the implementation of the Central Committee's resolutions on Party building and rectification and the Politburo's Directive on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle,” said Mr. Tran Cam Tu.

Look straight at the limitations and overcome the shortcomings.

The Standing Secretariat also affirmed that the leaders of Da Nang city seriously and promptly overcome violations and shortcomings according to the conclusions of central agencies; the work of inspection, supervision, and prevention of corruption, waste, and negativity has been strengthened.

Da Nang City has created consensus, unity and high support among cadres, party members and people. The leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee are constantly improved.

In addition to the achieved results, the Standing Secretariat also acknowledges and appreciates the seriousness, openness, and frankness in assessing the city's limitations and shortcomings as stated in the report.

That is, the work of building the Party and the political system still has aspects that do not meet requirements. Some Party committees and organizations have not been truly proactive and decisive in leadership, direction, implementation, inspection and supervision.

Some important economic indicators have not reached the set plan. The economic scale is not commensurate with the potential and advantages. State management in aspects and fields such as planning, investment, land, minerals, and construction order still has some shortcomings.

The gap in economic, social and cultural life between urban and rural areas, especially in mountainous and island areas, is still large. The poverty rate in mountainous areas and ethnic minority areas is still high.

The Standing Secretariat proposed that the Congress should focus on discussing and analyzing the causes more thoroughly and deeply in order to have timely and effective solutions and remedies in the coming term.

“The most important thing is that we must concretize and successfully realize the orientations and numbers in the resolution into reality with our three core, fundamental and consistent goals of stabilizing, developing and constantly improving people's lives, all for the prosperous and happy life of the people,” emphasized Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu.
