Determine the two teams in the play-off match
The play-off match for a place in the V-League next season has an owner, when the final round of V-League matches ends this afternoon (June 22).
Da Nang Club came from behind to defeat SLNA 2-1 to finish 13th overall, thereby getting a ticket to the play-off match.
It was a bit unfortunate for coach Le Duc Tuan and his team when in the remaining match, Quang Nam tied with HAGL to stay in the league, with the equalizer 3-3 of the Quang Nam team being scored in the 90+4 minute. If Quang Nam lost at HAGL, Da Nang Club would stay in the league instead of having to play the play-off.

However, winning the play-off spot was a commendable effort, given that Da Nang FC was at the bottom of the table for most of the season. When the Han River team seemed to be relegated, coach Le Duc Tuan appeared to "revive the fire", helping Da Nang FC win 21 points in 15 matches to get a ticket to the play-off.
Da Nang's opponent in the play-off match is Binh Phuoc Club, the team that beat Long An 3-0 in the final round to win the first division runner-up position.
The play-off match between Da Nang and Binh Phuoc will take place at 6:00 p.m. on June 27, held at Thong Nhat Stadium.
The two teams will play only one match. If there is no winner after 90 minutes, the two teams will take a penalty shootout to decide who gets the ticket to the V-League next season.
Advantage for V-League representative
Over the past 10 years, there have been 4 play-off matches held between the 13th-ranked teams in the V-League and the top group in the first division. The V-League teams have won all the play-offs, with Long An (2016), Nam Dinh (2018), Thanh Hoa (2019) and Ha Tinh (2023 - 2024) all overcoming the "life-or-death" match to stay in the league.
History also records that V-League teams dominate play-off matches, winning 8/11 matches (72.7%).
The last time a first division team beat a V-League team was 11 years ago.
However, Binh Phuoc Club is not an easy opponent to defeat. The representative of the Southeast region has a very stable player base, with many national players and former national players such as Cong Phuong, Ngoc Duc, Tan Truong, not to mention the faces who used to wear the U.23 Vietnam shirt such as Tuan Tai, Tan Sinh...
In terms of battle prowess, even the players playing for coach Huynh Quoc Anh's team are better than Da Nang Club. The match is also a competition between former U.23 players such as Cong Phuong, Tan Sinh (Binh Phuoc) or Tien Dung (Da Nang).
Binh Phuoc FC is eager to reach the V-League for the first time in its history, while for Da Nang, winning the play-off match is a milestone to close the miraculous relegation season. Both teams are determined to win tickets to play in the V-League next season.
The "life and death" match at Thong Nhat Stadium will be worth watching!
