Teacher assaulting colleague: Originated from parking lot?

The initial cause of the teacher assaulting his colleague at Vo Nguyen Giap High School (Dak Lak) is believed to have stemmed from a conflict over parking on school grounds.

On October 10, teacher D.T, who was involved in the case of a teacher assaulting a colleague at Vo Nguyen Giap High School ( Dak Lak ), said he was upset with his colleague NTS when his motorbike was "carried" out of the school gate many times on October 1.

"I often park my motorbike under the royal poinciana tree near the school gate because it provides shade. There are other motorbikes parked there too. However, on the morning of October 1, my motorbike was moved into the student parking lot and left outside the school gate. I think Mr. S. did it," Mr. D.T. recounted.

After class, Mr. D.T. got his bike outside the school gate and drove home. On the way, both tires got flat so he had to find a place to get them fixed in the midday sun.

"Because of the grudge from October 1, I acted thoughtlessly towards Mr. S. on October 3. I also admit my fault for my inappropriate behavior at school. However, the school's report that I intentionally injured Mr. S. is not accurate," said Mr. T.

Meanwhile, teacher NTS confirmed that he had no previous grudge against teacher D.T and was also unaware of the incident on October 1.

Speaking with Thanh Nien , Mr. Nguyen Tien Dung, Principal of Vo Nguyen Giap High School, said that the two teachers had no conflict before the incident on campus on October 3.

Mr. Dung said that Mr. D.T. did not report the incident on October 1 to the school board. That day, when he entered the school, he saw a motorbike parked close to the gate, causing an unpleasant feeling, so he asked the security guard to take it to the student parking lot.

Mr. Dung said that about 30 minutes after bringing the bike in, the security guard checked and saw that the bike was "back in the same place". Because of its age, the security guard had to ask the students to help him bring the bike in again. The incident happened a third time, when the security guard came back to check, the bike appeared again at the school gate. "I confirm that there was no intentional puncture of the tire," Mr. Dung said.

As Thanh Nien reported, at around 7:10 a.m. on October 3, Mr. NTS reminded Mr. D.T, a math teacher, about parking his motorbike in the wrong place in the school yard.

Instead of cooperating, Mr. T. reacted violently, using threatening words and physically attacking his colleague. Specifically, Mr. T. used his hand to squeeze Mr. S.'s neck twice in front of the school security and several students.

On October 9, the Ministry of Education and Training sent a document requesting the Dak Lak Department of Education and Training to provide a specific report on the case of a teacher assaulting a colleague in front of many students.
