This is a program within the plan to restore tourism and diversify the international tourist market to Da Nang approved by the People's Committee of Da Nang City, to connect and discuss with airlines and travel companies in India about opening direct flights and exploiting tourists to Da Nang.

During the working trip to New Delhi and Gurugram (India), the Department of Tourism of Da Nang city directly worked with airlines Air India, Vistara and Indigo to provide information on destinations, potential and impressive growth of the Indian tourist market to Da Nang, preferential policies for international airlines opening direct flights, and at the same time received information and proposals from airline partners on plans to expand the flight network to Da Nang.

Ms. Truong Thi Hong Hanh, Director of the Department of Tourism of Da Nang City, said that Da Nang is an attractive new destination for Indian tourists with a series of strengths in beach resort tourism, converging world-famous hotel brands, unique theme parks, night entertainment activities and rich culinary culture.

Da Nang also has the advantage of connecting to world cultural heritages and has been honored as Asia's Leading Festival-Event Destination. The growth of Indian visitors to Da Nang in the first 9 months of 2023 initially demonstrates the attraction of the destination, with more than 95,000 Indian visitors to Da Nang, accounting for nearly 50% of the total number of Indian visitors to Vietnam.

It is the focal point connecting airlines with tourism businesses to form preferential and attractive product packages to offer and attract customer exchanges between Da Nang and major cities in India.

Travel agents highly appreciate Da Nang as a destination for its ability to provide diverse products and services with guaranteed quality. According to travel agents, Indian tourists often choose to stay at least 4 nights at 4-5 star hotels in Da Nang, preferring night entertainment, bars, pubs and spas. Currently, Da Nang is a convergence point of a series of attractive products, suitable for the tastes of Indian tourists.

It is known that Indian airlines are particularly interested in expanding their flight networks to new attractive destinations in Southeast Asia, including Vietnam and Da Nang. Notably, Vistara and IndiGo are studying plans to open direct flights to Da Nang./.
