Consulting on draft regulations on social housing support for people whose houses are far from their workplaces

The Vinh Long Department of Construction is seeking comments on a draft Decision detailing the case where people who own houses but are far from their workplace will be considered for social housing support policies.

The Vinh Long Department of Construction is seeking comments on a draft Decision detailing the case where people who own houses but are far from their workplace will be considered for social housing support policies.

According to the draft, in case the subject buys or rents to buy social housing according to the provisions of the law on housing, if he/she already owns a house but it is 30km or more away from the workplace, determined by the shortest road route, he/she is considered to have met the housing conditions to enjoy the social housing support policy according to the provisions of Clause 2, Article 9 of Resolution No. 201/2025/QH15.

The distance is determined by digital map (Google Map) or kilometer markers (km) and is confirmed by the agency or unit of the buyer or lessee of social housing according to the form attached to the decision.

The draft was widely consulted from August 13-23, 2025. Comments should be sent to the Department of Construction of Vinh Long province (No. 80 Tran Phu street, Phuoc Hau ward, Vinh Long province) or email: sxaydung@vinhlong.gov.vn.

According to the Department of Construction, the Prime Minister has assigned the province to build 2,415 social housing units in 2025. The province has currently implemented 10 projects. Accordingly, the province is urging investors to speed up the implementation of the projects.
