Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Huyen

- Trinh Huyen rarely appears in the media or in public; why is that?

Because I'm not a star yet! (Laughs) Just kidding! I feel I have many limitations, like my face isn't really well-proportioned, I'm small, and I'm not suitable for playing leading roles on screen. I'm also shy and introverted, so I have few opportunities to expand my network and introduce myself to people. And perhaps, I haven't had enough luck to get good roles that suit me.

- Your artistic journey has been quite challenging, but you've always found happiness in each role. What allows you to maintain such a positive outlook?

I believe that everything that happens to me is due to fate, so I live life according to fate, happily accepting both good and bad luck. An actor's job is to portray a character through their roles. Therefore, whether it's a leading or supporting role, it's my profession. And being a profession means it's intertwined with my life. To have a happy and fulfilling life, I must be happy with my work, and specifically with each role. With this mindset, I am always dedicated, serious, and happy with every role I play.

- How do you usually inspire your colleagues with your energy and passion for the profession?

Whether I take on a supporting or leading role, I always have one thought in mind: Who am I portraying? What do I need to do to make the audience believe that character is real in the play? Therefore, I always dedicate myself to each role from rehearsal to performance. There were times when, during rehearsals on stage, a colleague would tease me: " You're so passionate during rehearsals, who can keep up with you? It's been so long since you've performed, why are you so eager to perform?"

In addition, I always encourage my co-stars to practice as if it were real because I'm not afraid of pain or fatigue. Bao Thanh has told me many times: " Every time we get tired during practice, looking down and seeing our older sister gives us the motivation to keep practicing."

Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Huyen looks radiant at the age of 45.

- Currently, you're also working as a screenwriter. How do you manage to keep your passion for the profession alive?

One could say that there's a silver lining in every cloud! Because I haven't had the chance to play as many great roles as I'd hoped, all my dreams have been poured into the characters I create. That's why I want to venture into screenwriting. I write to express my passion for creating characters on paper through words, and I'm continuing to learn so that more of my characters can come to life on stage!

- In the TV series "There's Peace There," currently airing on VTV, your role as the commune secretary has become well-known. In real life, do viewers often call you by the name you use in the series?

I was so happy to be in a prime-time VTV drama. Because of that, I got more interaction on Facebook. After the show aired, everyone started calling me "the village secretary." Even in my neighborhood, some people were surprised when they asked, " Isn't the village secretary here instead of attending a meeting today?" I never imagined that the smallest role in the film could have such "power"!

Late happiness

Lieutenant Colonel Trinh Huyen's happy family.

- Why did you only get married at the age of 37? Can you share a little about your family life?

In marriage, perhaps the concept of fate is most clearly demonstrated! When you yearn for it and search for it, marriage doesn't come. When you let go and stop thinking about it, it arrives. My marriage is like a gift from the universe. Currently, I am happy with my family, having a loving and respectful husband and mother-in-law; and two well-behaved, healthy children, a boy and a girl. Everyone creates an environment that allows me freedom in my life and work.

- How do you care for and raise your children to pursue a positive lifestyle?

I believe that words of advice are not as powerful as actions. Therefore, I create a positive daily lifestyle so that my children see their mother as an energetic, cheerful, smiling person who thinks and acts kindly, sincerely, and lovingly, and gradually they will feel and follow her example.

- On social media, you often post photos of yourself surrounded by nature. Is that perhaps your source of happiness in life?

I always find beauty in nature: from the plants and flowers around my house, the road I walk on, to the chirping of birds I hear every morning when I wake up. Everything makes me happy, joyful, and grateful. I love nature, and that's why, if I have the chance, I prefer places with beautiful nature to bustling cities. I especially love the sea. The sea makes me feel like a free, carefree child, but it also makes me tremble and feel afraid...

The artist has a particular love for nature.

- What kind of lifestyle do you maintain to always have so much energy?

I've found that a natural lifestyle is best for me, positively changing me. Unless I'm busy with work, I always go to bed before 11 pm and wake up at 4:30-5 am. I meditate and exercise. Exercising in the early morning sun until I'm drenched in sweat gives me energy and improves my physical and mental health. I read, listen to, and watch positive things and avoid negativity. I practice gratitude every day because, for me, being alive is a blessing!

- What love language do you use for your family and colleagues?

Sincerity and love. Because I believe only sincerity can make any relationship last. Only love can bring happiness!
