This is a highly anticipated match between two of Vietnam's top teams, with LPBank Ninh Binh being the reigning national champion and Hoa Chat Duc Giang the current runner-up. For the first time in the Asian Women's Club Volleyball Championship, Vietnam is participating with two representatives, showcasing their strength after the group stage. Hoa Chat Duc Giang finished third in Group A, while LPBank Ninh Binh finished second in Group B, thus they will face each other in the quarterfinals.
Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen (10) and LPBank Ninh Binh Club promise to go far in the Asian Club Championship
LPBank Ninh Binh FC's greatest strength lies in its outstanding hitter, Nguyen Thi Bich Tuyen. In the three group stage matches, Bich Tuyen single-handedly scored a total of 75 points (an average of 25 points per game), significantly more than the other teams. Besides their star player Bich Tuyen, LPBank Ninh Binh FC also boasts a well-balanced squad with national team players such as Nguyen Thi Trinh, Le Thanh Thuy, and Dinh Thi Thuy, along with foreign player Warisara Seetaloped, captain of the Thai U.20 team. Meanwhile, while Duc Giang Chemical FC has a weaker domestic squad compared to LPBank Ninh Binh FC, they possess two formidable foreign players: Tuchaya Boonlert (Thailand) and Elena Samoilenko (Russia). These two foreign players are considered crucial to the success of the wealthy Duc Giang Chemical FC in their quarter-final match against LPBank Ninh Binh FC. Furthermore, this team also boasts a promising duo of domestic players, Tran Tu Linh and Bich Thuy, along with coach Pham Van Long who understands the playing style of LPBank Ninh Binh Club. Therefore, the clash between the two Vietnamese teams promises to be intense and exciting.
The quarter-final match in Thailand, a rematch of the 2023 national final between LPBank Ninh Binh and Duc Giang Chemical, is also being closely followed by Vietnam women's volleyball team coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet. During a recent meeting with the Vietnam Volleyball Federation, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Kiet agreed to continue leading the Vietnamese women's volleyball team, undertaking two important tasks in 2025: participating in the 33rd SEA Games and the World Volleyball Championship, both in Thailand. Therefore, in addition to monitoring the performance of long-serving stars, Coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet is also seeking new faces to add and replace players in order to rejuvenate the team.
The winner of the quarter-final match between LPBank Ninh Binh Club and Duc Giang Chemical (at 1 PM today) will face the winner of the quarter-final match between Nakhon Ratchasima Club (Thailand) and Monolith Sky Risers Club (Philippines) in the semi-finals.
