The 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress was a great success, opening a new development period.

On the morning of October 15, the 1st Congress of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, term 2025-2030, closed after nearly 3 days of urgent, serious and responsible work. The Congress marked a historic turning point in the development process of Ho Chi Minh City after the merger, passing many important decisions and strategic orientations for the new period.

At the closing session, the Congress introduced the City Party Committee's Inspection Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term, consisting of 16 comrades; The Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee delegation attending the 14th National Party Congress included 75 official delegates, 5 ex-officio delegates and 9 alternate delegates. The Congress also passed the Resolution of the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress, announced the voting results of the development targets for the 2025 - 2030 term, and presented gifts to the comrades of the Executive Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term who were not re-elected or retired.

In his closing speech, Secretary of the City Party Committee Tran Luu Quang affirmed that after nearly 3 days of work, the Congress had completed the entire program and was a great success. This is a historic milestone, demonstrating the will and determination of the entire Party Committee and People of Ho Chi Minh City in the new development period. At the Congress, the delegates also focused their intelligence, discussed enthusiastically, and reached a high consensus on the resolution to develop the City with strategic vision, mettle and aspiration to reach international level. The Congress was honored to welcome Comrade To Lam , General Secretary of the Party Central Committee, along with many leaders, former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and distinguished guests. The presence of the leaders is a great source of encouragement for the Party Committee and People of the City, adding confidence and expectation in a new era of development, integration and breakthrough.

According to Mr. Tran Luu Quang, the first Congress has a special significance, marking the moment when Ho Chi Minh City merged with Binh Duong and Ba Ria - Vung Tau , forming the largest urban - industrial - seaport area in the country, affirming its position as the leading economic center and the development nucleus of the Southeast region. In the coming term, the Congress determined to build a clean and strong Party Committee and political system, perfect the organizational model, promote the tradition of solidarity, dynamism, creativity, humanity, and pioneering innovation for the whole country; mobilize all resources, exploit potentials and advantages, and promote the application of science - technology, innovation, and digital transformation. These are considered key solutions to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.

The Congress also set out 30 specific development targets and 3 key, breakthrough programs for the 2025-2030 term, aiming to make Ho Chi Minh City a civilized, modern city, a center of innovation, dynamism, with a prominent position in Southeast Asia, in the Top 100 most livable cities in the world. By 2045, the City strives to become an international megacity of Southeast Asia, an economic, financial, educational, medical and tourism center of Asia, with a high quality of life, sustainable development and deep global integration.

"The Congress calls on all cadres, party members and people of all walks of life in Ho Chi Minh City to continue promoting revolutionary traditions, creativity and solidarity, proactively seizing opportunities, overcoming challenges, competing to successfully implement the Resolution of the 1st City Party Congress, contributing to building Ho Chi Minh City to develop sustainably, reaching regional and world levels," Mr. Tran Luu Quang added.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, the official delegates summoned to attend the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress are 547 delegates, including 106 ex-officio delegates and 441 delegates appointed at the Party Committees of communes, wards, special zones and grassroots Party Committees directly under the City Party Committee. The Congress was held for 3 days from October 13 to 15. The Congress had the theme: "Building a clean and strong Party Committee and political system; promoting the strength of great national unity; making breakthroughs in developing science, technology, innovation and the private economy; strengthening national defense, security, foreign affairs, international integration; mobilizing and effectively using all resources for Ho Chi Minh City to pioneer with the whole country in the new era". The motto of the Congress is "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Breakthrough - Creativity"
