Fireworks "party" on Han River returns after 3 years of hiatus

The opening performance was by the host team Da Nang - Vietnam with a duration of 20 minutes and 25 seconds with the theme "Da Nang - The sound of peace ".

Da Nang fireworks team with the most experience in 11 DIFF seasons brought the audience a more satisfying opening performance with 4,500 fireworks of all kinds and over 128 different color effects.

The Vietnamese team's fireworks display was divided into three parts. The first part was a gentle combination of music and the colors and lights of fireworks to awaken the audience's emotions.

Part 2, using vibrant music combined with fireworks effects, depicts the rise of Da Nang people to overcome difficulties after the pandemic.

Part 3 "Peaceful tones" is the main part of the theme, which will combine modern, grandiose and explosive music. Through that, the main message for this year's festival season is the wish for people in the world to have peace, stability and happiness.

Vietnam's fireworks display combines gentle and powerful musical melodies, grand and majestic, with colorful fireworks effects.

The Finnish team chose a performance that spoke of intense emotions and love in the new normal.

"Coming to DIFF 2023, we want to bring a dynamic and emotional performance. Starting with our theme of awakening the heart with a catchy melody, followed by deep emotions with the song "listen to your heart", followed by cheerful melodies calling for solidarity through the song "Circle of Life" - Lion King soundtrack and finally ending with a call for the power of solidarity and together we show love to the world" - Mr. Johan Hollander - captain of the Finnish fireworks team Joho Pyro Professional Fireworks said about the team's performance.

The Finnish team's performance is a story about a special journey, the journey back to the "new normal" life when the COVID-19 pandemic hit.

With diverse fireworks techniques, each fireworks beat was perfectly choreographed with layered rays of light, in harmony with powerful rock sounds, taking the audience through emotional "ups and downs" like the past 3 difficult years, and then bursting into sublimation when the pandemic passed, the world was close together again as if there had never been isolation.

The focus of both performances was to convey a message of peace and happiness, bringing the audience joyful and contemplative emotions.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, said that this is a special festival because we have waited a long time - after a three-year hiatus - to be able to enjoy memorable moments together tonight, by the Han River.

This is the 11th time Da Nang City has organized the festival and the locality hopes to welcome 1.5 million visitors.

After the opening night, the following nights will be competitions between the teams: Canada - France (evening of June 10); Australia - Italy (evening of June 17); Poland - England (evening of June 24). The final night will take place on the evening of July 8.
