On the morning of November 10, General Nguyen Tan Cuong, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army, Deputy Minister of National Defense attended the National Great Unity Day, the Military-Civilian Cultural Festival and the inauguration of the Cultural House of Trung Lieu village, Tien Ngoai commune (Duy Tien town).
Also attending the festival were Lieutenant General Nguyen Quang Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee, member of the Central Military Commission, Commander of Military Region 3; Colonel Trinh Hong Phong, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Commander of the Provincial Military Command; Comrade Nguyen Duc Vuong, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of units under the Ministry of National Defense, representatives of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, Provincial Police, Party committees, authorities and local people.
Trung Lieu village has 302 households and 976 people. In 2024, promoting the great national solidarity bloc, the cadres and people of Trung Lieu village achieved many positive results in implementing the campaign "All people unite to build new rural areas and civilized urban areas". The average income per capita is estimated at 84 million VND/person/year. With the attention of all levels and sectors from central to local levels, the village has completed the construction of a cultural house and campus with a total area of 3,300m2, with an investment cost of more than 11 billion VND, meeting the needs of people for living, meetings, performing arts and sports practice.
Through the 2024 assessment, Trung Lieu village still has 6 poor households, accounting for 1.9%; 5 near-poor households, accounting for 1.6%; the rate of cultural families is 96.3%. In the village, 100% of households use tap water and clean water; the rate of waste collection in residential areas is 100%; political security, social order and safety are stable; the appearance of the countryside is increasingly changing; people's lives are constantly improving.
Speaking at the festival, General Nguyen Tan Cuong affirmed that national solidarity is a consistent, correct and very important policy and guideline set forth by the Party, Uncle Ho and the State to promote the highest strength of the entire nation and has been supported, implemented and joined by the entire people in the resistance wars for national liberation and reunification as well as in the cause of national construction and defense. National solidarity has created great strength, helping our country overcome all difficulties and challenges, achieving great achievements in all fields, contributing to improving the material and spiritual life of the people, enhancing the prestige and position of our country in the international arena.
General Nguyen Tan Cuong said that in 2024, in the context of many fluctuations, complexities, and unpredictability in the international and regional context, wars and conflicts taking place in some places in the world, the world economic situation continues to face many difficulties, and the country suffered heavy damage due to storm Yagi. However, under the correct leadership of the Party, timely decisions of the National Assembly, drastic direction and management of the Government, the participation of the entire political system and the consensus and synergy of the entire people and army, our country has overcome difficulties and achieved great achievements in all fields of economy, politics, culture, society, national defense, security and foreign affairs. In the overall achievements of the country, the Vietnam People's Army continues to make very important contributions.
To well implement Uncle Ho's teaching "Unity, unity, great unity. Success, success, great success", General Nguyen Tan Cuong hopes that the leaders of the province, district, Fatherland Front Committee and local mass organizations of Ha Nam continue to unite, promote revolutionary traditions, well implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws to care for the people, especially pay attention to policy families, poor households, near-poor households; implement solutions for socio-economic development, national defense and security of the locality; well organize patriotic emulation movements, encourage people to actively participate in Party building, building a clean and strong government and mass organizations from the grassroots.
On this occasion, the Ministry of National Defense presented gifts to Tien Ngoai commune and 70 people who are meritorious, elderly, poor and near-poor households in Trung Lieu village. The Military Region 3 Command also presented 121 gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers, policy families, elderly, poor and near-poor households in Tien Ngoai commune. 11 poor and near-poor households in the village received gifts from the province and Duy Tien town.
During the festival, delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the Trung Lieu Village Cultural House, visited the Traditional House and planted a souvenir tree. General Nguyen Tan Cuong and the delegates also attended a great solidarity meal with the local people.
