On the morning of April 18 - the 10th day of the third lunar month, along with localities across the country, at the National Historical and Cultural Relic of Lac Giao Communal House, Buon Ma Thuot City, the government and people of Dak Lak province solemnly held the Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony, offering incense to the nation's roots, expressing gratitude to the Hung Kings who built the country.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Pham Minh Tan - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Huynh Thi Chien Hoa - Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; H'Yim Kđoh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of Departments, branches, localities and many people.

The ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere with gong performances, drum beating, gong beating, traditional sacrificial rituals, incense offering, and offerings by leaders and people in Dak Lak province; a ceremony to report achievements, and a reading of congratulatory messages reviewing the heroic history of the Hung Kings during the founding of the country, the history of the struggle for national independence, national unification, and the building of socialism today.
Reading the speech at the ceremony, comrade H'Yim Kđoh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee emphasized that in the respectful and sacred atmosphere towards the origin, each of our hearts will forever remember the merits of our ancestors who were resilient and brave in reclaiming the land, building Van Lang - the first independent and sovereign nation of the Vietnamese people, laying the foundation for the strong and sustainable development of the nation.
The results achieved in 2023 are the result of the efforts and determination of the entire political system, of economic sectors in the province and the attention and support of the Government, ministries and central branches, especially the solidarity and consensus of all 49 ethnic groups in the province. Before the altar of the ancestors, the government and people of Dak Lak province respectfully pay tribute to the Hung Kings. The people of all ethnic groups in Dak Lak vow to together promote the tradition of great solidarity, continue to promote the cause of industrialization and modernization of the country, build Dak Lak province to be increasingly rich, civilized, modern, worthy of being descendants of Lac Hong - Mrs. H'Yim Kđoh prayed.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism said that the new feature of this year's Hung Kings' Commemoration Festival is the activity of wrapping Chung cakes and pounding Day cakes, which are performed by artisans in Buon Ma Thuot city at Lac Giao Communal House to offer to the Hung Kings.
In a respectful and sacred atmosphere, Dak Lak people offer incense to commemorate the Hung Kings and turn to their roots.
Participating in this activity, Ms. Luan Thi Lien, Tu An ward, Buon Ma Thuot city, emotionally shared, I participated in wrapping Chung cakes for the Ancestor Ceremony. This time, I felt that the Hung King's death anniversary was very thoughtful and grand, everyone participated enthusiastically. On this occasion, we participated in the cake wrapping demonstration, contributing to the solemn and meaningful ceremony. I pray that the Hung Kings will bless and protect the Vietnamese people to always enjoy peace, joy and happiness.
Mr. Nguyen Van Bay, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of Cultural Activities at the National Historical and Cultural Relic of Lac Giao Communal House, said that every year, the People's Committee of Dak Lak province chooses Lac Giao Communal House as the place to hold the Hung Kings' Commemoration Ceremony. This is an opportunity for the people of all ethnic groups in the province to return to their roots, show their respect, and remember the merits of the Hung Kings who built and defended the country, thereby contributing to consolidating and developing the great solidarity of the ethnic groups in the province.
The Hung Kings worship was recognized by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity on December 6, 2012. Up to now, the power of the Hung Kings worship is being promoted in the present and the future. That is the source strength, gathering the solidarity of generations of Vietnamese people living in all parts of the country, including our overseas Vietnamese, to participate in the cause of building and defending the fatherland. |
