Dak Nong collects DNA samples of relatives of unidentified martyrs

On May 7-8, Dak Nong Provincial Police coordinated with the Working Group of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, the Ministry of Public Security, Genestory Company (testing unit) and local authorities to collect DNA samples of relatives of unidentified martyrs in the province.

During this period, the Working Group coordinated with local authorities to collect DNA samples for 5 cases of martyrs' relatives residing in Gia Nghia City, Dak Song District and Krong No District. Particularly for cases of martyrs' relatives who are sick, old and unable to move, the Working Group went to their homes to collect samples with the motto of ensuring speed, accuracy and convenience for the relatives.

Mr. Bui Ngoc Chau, Dak N'Drung commune (Dak Song), the younger brother of martyr Bui Ngoc Thuat, emotionally said: "In the past 50 years, since receiving his death notice, his family has searched for him many times in many places but until now there is still no information. Now that we have this to find his grave, the family is very grateful to the Party, the State and the police force."

The working group went to the homes of martyrs to collect information from their relatives.

Ms. Hoang Thi Tham, Gia Nghia City, brought her mother, Ms. Le Thi Tinh (born in 1922) to take a DNA sample and could not hold back her emotions. She thanked the police force and local authorities for creating conditions for her mother to come and take the sample, lighting up the hope of finding the remains of her martyr brother who died in 1972. Ms. Tham believes that not only her family but also many other families who had their DNA samples taken during this period will soon find their relatives.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Dinh Thanh Tung, Head of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order of Dak Nong Provincial Police, in order to organize the collection of DNA samples of martyrs' relatives to meet requirements, the provincial police leaders have directed professional units, police of communes, wards and towns where there are relatives who are interested in taking DNA samples to pay attention and create conditions for the implementation of sample collection to meet the set progress and quality.

The Provincial Police Department of Administrative Management of Social Order visited, sent wishes of good health and presented gifts to relatives and families of martyrs.

This is one of the important political tasks of departments, branches, sectors and localities in implementing Project 06 in the province in 2025. It is a responsibility and activity with profound humanistic significance, demonstrating the gratitude of the Party, State and People for the great contributions and sacrifices of heroic martyrs for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland.
