In a speech lasting about 10 minutes, President Vladimir Putin declared that Victory Day celebrated in Russia is the most important holiday. President Putin emphasized that the feat of the Soviet people decided the outcome of the war against fascism. The courage of Soviet soldiers decided the outcome of World War II. The Nazi offensive was defeated by the unity of the Soviet people.
President Putin affirmed that Russia always remembers the lessons of the Great Patriotic War and will never accept the distortion of this event. The Russian leader noted that the Russian Federation will remain an unbreakable barrier for those who support fascism, Russophobia and anti-Semitism.
“Russia will remember the merits of the veterans of the Great Patriotic War and admire their love for the Fatherland. Russia will rely on the achievements of our ancestors and the unity of our people to make the country strong in the future,” President Putin affirmed.
President Putin announced a minute of silence to commemorate those who died in the Great Patriotic War.

In particular, this year, Russia invited the armies of 13 countries with friendly relations with Russia to participate in the parade on Red Square, including: Egypt, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Myanmar, Mongolia, Laos, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, China, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. Vietnam's participation in the parade on Red Square contributes to affirming its foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, multilateralization and diversification, demonstrating Vietnam's responsibility in building and maintaining an environment of peace, stability, cooperation and development.
With the heroic music, the marching group of the Vietnam People's Army demonstrated majesty, bravery and iron discipline - the values that have made our Army strong throughout the 80 years of building, fighting and growing. The Vietnam People's Army delegation, together with the Russian army and other countries, marched on Red Square, creating a beautiful image of military cooperation and international solidarity.
More than 11,500 servicemen and more than 183 units of military equipment took part in the parade on Red Square, including models of equipment from the Great Patriotic War as well as modern models. The T-34 tank appeared first. In addition, there were T-90M, T-72B3M and T-80BVM tanks, T-34-85. The Giatsint-K 152mm wheeled self-propelled artillery systems and Malva self-propelled guns, as well as the Tornado-S multiple launch rocket system and the TOS-2 Tosochka heavy flamethrower system, made their debut on Red Square.
The parade groups across Red Square included regiments, battalions and companies by type and service, blocks of famous military academies such as Suvorov, Nakhimov, the Young Army group, women's servicemen, Cossacks and a general military orchestra.
