Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Nguyen Huu Hung said that the department has just sent an official dispatch to the People's Committees of districts, towns, cities, commercial businesses, goods distribution enterprises, supermarkets, and commercial centers in the province on ensuring the supply of quantity and quality of essential goods such as food, foodstuffs... to serve the work of flood and storm prevention and control, not allowing a shortage of goods to occur, affecting production, consumption and daily life of the people.

Accordingly, the Department of Industry and Trade requested the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to direct the review and assessment of supply and demand for goods, especially essential goods, to proactively develop plans to organize the storage of goods to prevent storms and floods according to the "four on-site" motto, to avoid shortages and disruptions in goods sources, causing sudden price increases.
Actively coordinate with the Market Management force in charge of the area and related units to strengthen market inspection and control, promptly detect, prevent and strictly handle acts of taking advantage of natural disasters and floods to speculate, hoard goods, and unreasonably raise prices for profit, causing market instability.
Enterprises assigned to carry out goods reserves shall carry out goods reserves to serve natural disaster prevention, control and search and rescue work in 2024, develop specific plans and solutions for human resources, vehicles and goods to promptly supply and handle market hotspots when required according to assigned areas.
The development of the plan requires special attention to remote areas, isolated flooded areas. According to Deputy Director of Co.opmart Dong Ha Supermarket Ho Thi Thanh Duyen, with the mentality of preparing enough essential food to prevent storms, the number of people shopping at the supermarket has increased in recent days compared to usual days.
On September 18, 2024 alone, the supermarket's sales revenue reached 500 million VND, while the previous days' revenue reached about 300 - 400 million VND.
