(Haiphong.gov.vn) - In response to the reflection on the situation of some health insurance medical examination and treatment facilities (HIC) not having air conditioning or having it but not using it, affecting the health of patients in hot weather, Vietnam Social Security has just issued a document requesting regional Social Security to report to the People's Committees of provinces and cities to direct the Department of Health and HIC medical examination and treatment facilities to urgently overcome the situation to ensure the full legitimate rights of HI participants, protect the health and improve the quality of medical examination and treatment for patients.
To enhance the protection of health insurance patients' rights in hot weather, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Hoang Minh Cuong has just issued a directive in Document 5056/VP-VX assigning the Department of Health to direct medical facilities in the city to strictly implement measures to prevent heatstroke for patients; ensure that the medical examination and inpatient treatment areas are airy and cool in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Health .
Request to prevent the situation where only examination and treatment areas or treatment rooms upon request are allowed to use air conditioning; promptly fix cases where cooling equipment is broken or not working, to avoid patients having to request to transfer treatment to service areas due to inadequate facilities.
According to Vietnam Social Security, in 2024, bed costs will account for 24.8% of total inpatient health insurance costs, so it is necessary to ensure full benefits and improve service quality for health insurance participants./.
