Congress of the Party Committee of the Department of Agriculture and Environment for the 2025-2030 term: Agreeing on the goal of developing high-quality agriculture and adapting to climate change

(Haiphong.gov.vn) – On the afternoon of June 19, the Party Committee of the City Department of Agriculture and Environment held the Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. The Congress was attended by 100 delegates who are exemplary party members, representing all party members in the Party Committee.

In the 2020-2025 term, the Party Committee, the Department's leaders, and all cadres and party members in the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Party Committee always promote the spirit of solidarity, creativity, effort, and high determination in implementing the Resolution of the City Party Committee and the Resolution of the Department's Party Committee. Thereby, actively contributing to the socio -economic development of the agricultural sector and of Hai Phong city.

Under the leadership of the Party Committee, the unit has successfully completed its political tasks over the years during the term. Many professional targets have been completed and exceeded. The Party Committee takes the effectiveness of performing professional and political tasks as a measure to evaluate the qualities and capacities of cadres, and as an important basis for arranging and assigning civil servants. The ideology of the cadres and party members is always steadfast; the qualifications and professional capacities of civil servants are increasingly improved, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.

Party building work has been led and directed regularly, closely, resolutely and promptly. Inspection and supervision work has been carried out seriously and in accordance with regulations, contributing to improving the quality of leadership and direction of Party committees and Party organizations. The leadership and direction of mass organizations have had many positive changes, operating effectively, contributing to building strong mass organizations, performing their functions and tasks according to the charter and promoting their role in implementing the political tasks of agencies and units.

The city's agricultural, fishery and rural economic production continued to maintain a stable growth rate. Productivity, output and added value of agricultural products were constantly improved, contributing to ensuring food security, increasing income and improving the lives of people in rural areas. The economic structure in the agricultural and fishery sectors shifted in the right direction, achieving many outstanding results. Concentrated agricultural commodity production was increasingly expanded; the application of technical advances and promotion of mechanization in production brought about practical results, gradually modernizing agriculture.

The National Target Program on New Rural Development has been implemented synchronously and effectively; many important targets have been completed and exceeded ahead of schedule. The number of cooperatives and farms operating effectively continues to increase, affirming their role as a core force, contributing to promoting sustainable development of the agricultural economy.

The organizational structure and apparatus of agencies and units in the whole industry have been streamlined, operating more and more effectively and efficiently. The work of preventing and responding to natural disasters and epidemics; managing and controlling agricultural materials for production; and controlling the quality and food safety of agricultural products has had many positive changes, gradually meeting practical requirements and improving the quality of service to the people.

At the Congress, the delegates reached a high consensus and voted to pass the Congress Resolution for the 2025-2030 term with key directions, goals, targets and tasks. The main contents are: Striving to develop agricultural production towards high quality, creating many food products with added value and good quality; improving the efficiency of management, exploitation and rational use of natural resources; strengthening the protection of the ecological environment and improving the capacity to respond to climate change.

The Congress also determined to continue innovating the leadership methods of Party committees at all levels; strengthening solidarity and unity within the entire Party; promoting the pioneering, exemplary role, proactive and creative spirit of each cadre and Party member; stabilizing the organizational apparatus; focusing on building a sustainable development of the Agriculture and Environment sector, contributing to the successful implementation of the Resolution of the 17th Congress of the Hai Phong City Party Committee./.
