Dam Ha district started building new rural areas (NTM) in 2001, in the context of being a poor district. With the promotion of internal strength, correct and appropriate methods, and the solidarity of many generations of cadres and people, in 2021, Dam Ha district was recognized as meeting NTM standards. In 2022, Dam Ha district had 6/8 advanced NTM communes, 2/8 model NTM communes, basically meeting the criteria of an advanced NTM district.
The achievements after nearly 13 years of building the new rural area of Dam Ha are a synchronous transportation, electricity and water supply system, a complete irrigation system, the formation of concentrated agricultural production planning areas, the creation of agricultural product brands and the promotion of electronic agricultural product consumption. The production level of the people has been raised to a new level. This is an important premise, opening up space for Dam Ha to position itself as a locality developing high-tech agriculture .
Quan field is over 40 hectares wide, is a concentrated rice growing area of Lang Ruong people, Dai Binh commune. Previously, this field grew local rice varieties, now it grows DT100 rice varieties. According to Ms. Dinh Thi Phu, Lang Ruong village, Dai Binh commune, DT100 rice variety is strong, has long panicles, heavy grains, adapts to soil conditions, has a much higher yield than the rice varieties grown before, and the quality of the rice grains is also considered good.
Along with Lang Ruong, this year's crop, the people of Trai Dinh village, Dam Ha commune also switched from local rice varieties to Kim Cuong 90 rice varieties. Looking at the green, big, heavy rice fields of Kim Cuong 90, Mr. Le Van Lan, Trai Dinh village, Dam Ha commune, was excited, affirming that this year's crop was a good one.
With the view of prioritizing the development of clean agricultural and organic agricultural models, Dam Ha district has gradually planned and formed concentrated agricultural production in aquaculture, livestock and poultry farming, and fruit tree planting. The whole district encourages farmers, cooperatives and agricultural enterprises to apply science and technology, new varieties in production, apply advanced farming processes, and bring to the market clean agricultural products, agricultural products without residues or chemical ingredients, with high quality and value.
The melon growing model of Mr. Truong The Do, Dai Binh commune applies modern production technology. With a greenhouse, the factors of temperature, light, pollination time, fruit harvest time, size, and number of fruits on each tree. Therefore, the efficiency of the farming model is higher. Mr. Do's melon products are sold as soon as they are produced. Currently, Mr. Do's farming scale has expanded to 4 hectares, with an income of over 2 billion VND in 2022, of which the profit is 30%.
In the livestock sector, Thang Hue Cooperative (Dam Ha town) is currently a typical unit developing in the direction of chain linkage. Starting from the model of raising ducks for households, Mr. Dinh Van Thang, Director of the Cooperative, has expanded into the field of poultry incubation services for hire for people, poultry slaughtering services, and supplying poultry breeds to the market.
For Tuyen Hien Cooperative (Quang Tan Commune), the direction chosen is to develop local products, which is the bearded chicken, which is a native chicken breed that has been present in Dam Ha District for hundreds of years. To be able to breed this chicken, Tuyen Huyen Cooperative has applied the method of artificial insemination, the process of raising chickens in cages, cold houses, and linked with farmers to raise bearded chickens in a controlled manner regarding the composition of food.
From this method, Tuyen Hien's production scale increased rapidly. Currently, Tuyen Hien sells over 250,000 breeding chickens and 150 tons of commercial chickens to the market each year, earning tens of billions of VND in revenue. The number of households associated with Tuyen Hien is nearly 200.
Viet Uc - Quang Ninh Company Limited has been located in Dam Ha district since 2018, currently producing about 2 billion high-quality shrimp seeds each year. From this advantage, Dam Ha district encourages the formation of high-tech shrimp farming models, aiming at 3-4 stage shrimp farming technologies, indoor shrimp farming, winter shrimp farming... to reduce dependence on the natural environment, ensuring the growth and development of shrimp. From here, Dam Ha district has formed more modern-scale white-leg shrimp farming facilities. Up to now, Dam Ha has 5 cooperatives and 178 shrimp farming farms, with a total output of nearly 3,600 tons in 2022.
It can be seen that Dam Ha district has been promoting the achievements of the process of building new rural areas in modern agricultural production activities, producing safe, high-quality, high-value agricultural products with sustainable development. This direction has been helping Dam Ha increase income, improve people's lives, and move towards becoming a key area for modern agricultural economic development in Quang Ninh province.
