On May 17th, the Women's Union of Phu Dien ward, in coordination with the Women's Union branches of residential groups 4, 5, and 6 in Dinh Quan, organized the unveiling of the "Flowering Road Section Managed by Women" project in the Dinh Quan lake area.

The "Women's Self-Managed Flower-Filled Road" project spans 350 meters around Dinh Quan Lake. To complete the project, female officials, members, and residents of the neighborhood groups contributed nearly 37 million VND in socialized funding to purchase flower pots and trees, and also contributed hundreds of man-days of labor to improve the ground, plant, water, and care for the trees daily.

Previously, the area around Dinh Quan Lake was a long-standing garbage dumping site, frequently resulting in illegal waste disposal, causing urban blight and negatively impacting the living environment.
This project is the result of the propaganda and mobilization efforts of grassroots women's association officials and members aimed at changing perceptions and raising awareness of environmental hygiene in the community. In particular, the women's association officials and members in the residential areas played a core role, directly going "door to door" to educate and remind people to dispose of garbage at the correct time and place, and not to litter indiscriminately around Dinh Quan Lake.

In particular, families who rent out rooms are being actively promoted and encouraged by women's associations to take responsibility for reminding tenants to comply with regulations on environmental hygiene and maintain the common landscape of the residential area.
In addition to their active role in environmental protection, the women's associations in residential areas 4, 5, and 6 of Dinh Quan have also left a significant mark on humanitarian and charitable activities, contributing to social welfare in the locality. Models such as "Godmother" programs, support for disadvantaged children, visits to women and members in need, and fundraising for vulnerable groups have been effectively maintained, contributing to spreading the spirit of sharing within the community.

Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Hung, Party Secretary and Head of the Front Committee of Residential Area 5, Dinh Quan, said that the project is an effective model of skillful public mobilization, encouraging people to change their perceptions and work together to build a civilized residential area. "Many women's association members voluntarily dedicate their time daily to watering plants, weeding, pruning, and caring for each flower bed, keeping the road always green, clean, and beautiful. The area around Dinh Quan Lake has now become a 'flower-filled road,' creating a scenic highlight and contributing to improving the quality of life in the locality," Mr. Hung said.
Ms. Do Thi Kim Chi, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Phu Dien Ward and Chairwoman of the Women's Union of the ward, expressed that the flower-lined road managed by women is a practical activity in response to the movement to build a civilized urban area and implement the campaign "Building a family with 5 no's and 3 clean's" within the Women's Union at all levels. The "flower-lined road managed by women" at Dinh Quan Lake further affirms the role of the Women's Union in local emulation movements, while contributing to changing the appearance of the residential area towards a bright, green, clean, beautiful, civilized, and modern direction.
