Right before the Lunar New Year of At Ty 2025, Ho Chi Minh City Television Film Studio (TFS) released 2 episodes of Ho Chi Minh - The Road Ahead: Triumphal Song in the Heart of Paris . This is the second time the young man born in 1997 has been entrusted with the dual role of scriptwriter and director of historical documentaries.

Ngo Quang Thinh admitted that making a documentary about Uncle Ho had a lot of pressure. “Stories about Uncle Ho have been exploited a lot. I need to approach it with a more familiar and modern perspective so that viewers can receive it gently and feel the good and beautiful things about Uncle Ho's stories.” The film Ho Chi Minh - The Road Ahead: Triumphal Song in the Heart of Paris was approached by Thinh and his crew from the diplomatic perspective of President Ho Chi Minh so that the audience could have the most authentic view of Uncle Ho's art of "Winning Friends and Influences". For the young director and the crew members, the joy was overwhelming because the film was highly appreciated on the day of its release. Many tears were shed because of emotion.
Ngo Quang Thinh said that documentaries chose him because before that, the sports reporter never thought he would choose to pursue this genre. In early 2019, he joined TFS. His first documentary was The Last Stronghold , a 4-episode, narrated documentary about the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
“When I first came to documentary films, I was really confused. Many people said that at my age, coming to documentary films was a bit early because this genre requires more maturity and experience,” Ngo Quang Thinh recalled. But after that encounter, along with learning from his seniors, he gradually felt that “documentaries have their own interesting and good things and bring me a source of endless creativity”. After that, the films: Story from a distant island, New life and 2 parts of Ho Chi Minh - The road ahead were released. 6 years with 5 documentaries is a whole encouraging legacy.
When asked about the gains and losses when making documentaries, Thinh said he has matured. “I learned to look at things more slowly. Especially with historical films, I learned to love my homeland and country more and be proud of my national history more. If we talk about losses, it is probably the loss of... beauty,” he joked.
Although his career journey has not been too long, it has helped Thinh change his perspective, way of thinking and approach to documentaries. Thinh said that at first he approached documentaries as a young person who was quite eager and greedy in expressing details. However, over time, he chose to go slower and deeper so that the audience could feel it more clearly. "For me, each documentary is a story that helps me understand more about life, slow down, and calm down to do it," he expressed his opinion.
